Met him at the Belmont Stakes a few years back. He was very nice to me and Mere. We must have talked for 15 minutes and I never got the feeling we were imposing on him.

Deserved famous for his sports paintings; but I think the world would also be poorer if he had not created these, the iconic "Femlins", for Playboy magazine:

   

Born in 1955 at the request of Hugh Hefner himself when Hef decided he needed something visual for his "Party Jokes" page, they have appeared in every issue of the magazine since their creation.

On "Pawn Stars" this past Monday someone brought in one of his pieces in to sell. It was not worth much so the guy kept it.
The appraiser said it will most likley be worth more once he passes.
