Good grief. Who cares? The over-moderation here is ridiculous. Where is the harm if someone wants to start 2013, 2014 or who is going to the moon thread? If it helps to keep people engaged isn't that the point of a website? More traffic? The show this year was not announced until April. If people waited until then to start the 2012 GW thread many of us would have lost out on booking hotels and flights at much lower rates. If there is no interest in a 2013 GW thread it will fizzle out organically and if there is interest it grow. No one is getting harmed either way!

I'll never understand the over moderation that has taken over this website.

If this is the way it's going to be (I agree this is a bit strict) Let's have a Who's going to The Wellfleet Beachcomber thread..cause that is where a lot of us have gone after the show. We need to discuss for next year, make reservations, for that event etc...
For all those that missed it..it was an AWESOME time at the Cape. Last night, I haven't laughed that much in a long time!

Odd that the 'Who's Going to 2012" was started Tue Jun 21, 2011 12:54 am which was just 3 days after the show last year but this year it isn't OK?
Wonder what changed. We only got less than 220 pages between the start of the thread and the actual show in a year.
Maybe we need a Pre-Pre-Concert forum

The Great Northern Phlocking (dates to be announced) thread! I'm lament missing the Cape more than I do the concert.

With all the talk of losing traffic to sites like FB, shouldn't the powers that be just be excited they have people engaging and participating in something that they have a hand in creating and fostering? Just be happy to be part of a community that's so jazzed about hanging with each other. I'm willing to bet that even if Jimmy didn't play GW next year, you would still find the same group of people planning a trip to the Cape together in the absence of a show.

Hmm...that means I started the thread last year sitting at the bar I stopped at on my way home from the airport.

And it certainly wasn't ok. We caught all kinds of flack from that. Hell, I still caught flack for it two months ago.

After a bit of fuss, it was moved to the "Tour Dates and Rumors" till the show was actually announced.

Everything aside, Andrew just started this as a joke. Unfortunately some people just don't see the humor in it.

That makes sense. I didn't start following it until after it was moved and I can see how the title could cause issues with people thinking that the 2013 dates may be in the works this early. Not trying to cause any problems but this is a pretty awesome group of pholks that probably would normally never have met if it wasn't for the site so I do appreciate everything the owners and moderators do to keep it running.

Maybe the thread is more appropriate for the Parrothead Social Gathering thread right now and it probably can just stay there because once the show is announced it is always on the first page.

Carol...the firepit was such an awesome idea!!!!! Last night was WONDERFUL!!!!!!! Heck the whole day was great on the beach!

I just almost dropped my ebook from my lap, sitting in front of Wellfleet library.
@ The mods, thanks for letting this thread stay for a while!

It is hard to predict what we'll do next years in terms of travel, my financial situation changed a bit.
But if there is the slightest chance we for sure will try to maker it to Great Woods again, even with everything that happened.
