Phin Power and a Fundraiser/Green Parrot Bouncers Attacked

I know a great many of you enjoy visiting the Green Parrot when you're in Key West. It's one of the places here where the staff has embraced me and takes care of me and I know I'm safe on the nights I've been on my own.

On July 28, Tim Grandy and Adam Daytz were attacked when they confronted two men who were rummaging through bike and scooter baskets outside the bar around 4 a.m. Sadly, Tim remains in critical condition. If you've ever been in there when Tim is working, you can't miss him. He's a giant teddy bear and is loved by the community. His son Cory works at Schooner and, likewise, has been incredibly kind to me since moving here four months ago.

The Green Parrot is holding a fundraiser on August 18 and while I know many of you can't be here, you can still donate directly if you're so inclined. I hope you'll share this information with your PHC and other Key West loving friends. I'd love to see an outpouring of assistance from all over.

I know! Tim and Adam were just looking out for the bar patrons. All the guys had to do was run away and it would have been over.

I can't imagine that they'll be locals long...or that the guy who bonded out is even still on the island. The guy that's still in jail apparently worked at Hard Rock.
