Cheater Game

Post by Tequila Revenge »

Pretty disgusted with the news about Lance Armstrong today. Even more depressing is to think about all the other people, businesses, banks, politicians, etc., that make cheating, lying and deceiving daily practice. So lets make a game out of it and see how many we can list in alphabetical order. And no cheating :P

Here's a start, and were not limited to sports figures

Armstrong, Lance
Bonds, Barry
Cabrera, Melky
got to stop wishin' got to start fishin'....

Then why did he give up? Would you give up 7 "Championships" if you were innocent?
Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.

Not to mention that every time he was exonerated more charges would come up out of the blue.
I'm not convinced either.

Well I sure have the "L" one. LandAmerica. Thank you Ted Chandler for acting like you didn't know what was going on while the Fortune 500 you inherite went bankrupt and put tens of thousand of people out of work. Love (not) Auntie. (one of your former employees who you ironically actually commended for providing exceptional service).

Someone on one of the bicycle sites I frequent referred to it as "Death by a Thousand Cuts".

This was actually a case when the man was presumed guilty until proven innocent.  This is not the American way; it is French.  The d-bag who is the CEO of USADA (Travis Tygart, who is probably a direct descendent of Senator Joe McCarthy) ignored all prior evidence and findings, including the most recent one brought in 2010 by US federal prosecutors and in which the USADA participated and provided "evidence".  Even then, after two years and God-only-knows how much taxpayer money, the investigation was closed in April 2012 after finding no valid or conclusive evidence that Lance was not squeaky clean.  It was only after that that Torquemada and the Spanish Inquisition — sorry, I meant "Mr. Tygart and the USADA" — launched their attack and, in the best traditions of any lynch mob, took less than four months to complete their hatchet job.

However, it is still not over.  USADA can bring their charges based on innuendo and hear-say and even render a "decision" based on procedural nit-picking rather than due process, but the fact is that they have absolutely no say in whether or not Lance is stripped of his TdF titles, his Olympic medal, or any other accolades he has amassed over the years.  Only the Amaury Sports Organization (who run the TdF), the IOC (International Olympic Committee), or the UCI (the international governing body for cycling competition) can make these determinations; and the UCI has already asked the USADA for more specific information that the USADA will have to provide.  Lance's choice to "plead the Fifth" and refuse to participate in the USADA's kangaroo court actually puts the burden of proof back on Tygart and the USADA, and will eventually result in the USADA's "evidence" coming to light anyway.

And just as an aside — if Lance's seven Tour de France wins were to be voided and awarded to the second-place finisher, Alex Zulle would replace him on the leader board for 1999; Jan Ullrich would become the champion for 2000, 2002, and 2003; Joseba Beloki would be named the winner for 2001; Andreas Klöden would inherit the yellow jersey for 2004, and Ivan Basso would assume the 2005 title.  However, all have doping scandals of their own.  Zulle, Ullrich and Basso were found to have doped during their careers and had two-year suspensions imposed on them by the UCI; Beloki had to skip the 2006 Tour as he was a subject in a doping investigation at that time (he was later cleared), and in 2009 Klöden himself was the subject of doping accusations during the 2006 Tour.....

I am not at all convinced Lance cheated. In a "real" court of law, he would not be convicted. I am sure he is tired of paying to fight these charges and needs to walk away. And, yes, I would give up 7 championships under the witch hunt that has been going on. Give them back their championships and tell them where they can shove them and then move on with my life....there is no evidence and it is absolutely ridiculous to have spent the time and money on this. By the way, really,,,,what is the "US Doping agency"????? if it is funded by taxpayers money, then shut them down and move on....

the US government and the us senate committees has absolutley no reason to be involved in "doping" in sports...waste of time and money.....perhaps we can focus on something called afghanistan.....

LA's 500 passed drug tests is a pretty good record.

Barry Bonds passed all his drug tests too.

Found this and just thought I'd throw it in for a chuckle or two:

Gotta love the part when he brings out his flowchart:
Lance: "So the USDA says that I'm guilty —"
USADA (interrupting): "USADA."
Lance: "Nobody cares."

And by the way, FINSUPinIdaho — also from the clip:
USADA: "Your name will be synonymous with Roger Clemens."
Lance: "He was proven innocent in a court of law."
USADA: "Barry Bonds."
Lance: "Proven innocent!"
USADA: "Ryan Braun!"
Lance: "Innocent, I believe..."
