The first year the Comfort Suites was open we got to stay there. During the morning on the day of the show, the firetrucks had to come and put a fire out because someone had probably thrown hot coals in the dumpster behind the hotel.
And if he does Houston, operate under Plan B. Will you come to Houston?

Frisco is a bit north of Dallas near McKinney.
It is a huge soccer field with all kinds of parking lots and fields for soccer and happens to lend itself to tailgating. There are lots of undeveloped areas they convert to parking lots and that allows more RVs etc to pay for spaces. The tailgating is huge. Consequently, the traffic and getting around the parking lots gets interesting too. People use all kinds of modes of riding around...golf carts being the preferred method.
There are a few restaurants close-by, but only one hotel so far.
The main soccer stadium actually has pretty good sound and is well-prepared for big crowds during the show. So far, 2007-2011 were pretty lucrative for the area.
I have to say that Starplex and their parking lot and Hoot Island was good too. It is a long way from most tailgating areas to the actual concert venues so they usually involve lots of walking.

Thanks. I'm familiar with the Addison area but didn't know Frisco.

I'm in, but my group numbers are not yet certain.
Probably myself, my husband, friend from MA, friend from here, friend from Austin, and maybe her husband.
So, what is that? Six for me, then.

Last year was my first year to bring an RV, Gexa is a little different from Frisco. Can anyone give a few pointers? I have tailgated in Frisco for past concerts, but never a RV. Any ideas of best place to park, how early should I get there (Friday), any particular lot that seems to be more active? Any advice would be great! thanks

BN people always got spaces back toward the back by that Dr. Pepper pavilion area where there are restrooms. (We had also rented a few porta potties.)
With that in mind, and percieving that not all BNers will be organized into that area this year, Margaritaville BUS, (which I understand they don't take on the road anymore) was over by the WEST Entrance. That is also where the Meet and Greets with the Coral Reefers took place.
Judging by all the music and EXTRA activities associated with tailgating, both sides seem to be just as active. I personally feel the EAST SIDE was wilder with bigger groups.
The area way to the NORTH, where BN group was, seems to be the quietest area and away from some of the crazy CIRCUS of activities.
YOU can't go wrong. There are ++++++ to all areas.
IF, you have people that need to come later, the EAST side if definitely closer to the fields people have to park in when they come later. They did start letting people park cars in the fields SOUTH across from the street from the stadium too.
The Comfort Suites Hotel is to the EAST of the STADIUM

Sheree, that's great to hear. Steve and some others at the P'cola concert had me convinced Tampa was the best. I am definitely hoping to make it there before he retires, but how can you beat the length and frenzy that is Frisco, TX?
