Isn't someone getting married that weekend that could invite me to come. That would be the ONLY way I would get out of work...short of changing jobs....
Sure, I'll get married that weekend.
I tried using you as an excuse last year. Said I was the maid of honor. Didn't work. they wanted a picture of the dame dress and the invitation....
I just tried buying tickets for Frisco on ticketmaster and the only seats available were price level 1. Yall think the cheaper tickets have already been sold out?
LanceC wrote:Vanilla... So I've been emailing back and forth and here is what I know...
1. Golf carts allowed
2. You reserve now... They mail you a voucher... You can pay when you arrive in cash or send check or Paypal now
3. RVs are $300 for whole weekend including whatever you pulled it with. Additional cars are $40 a day. You can start parking on Thursday and you have in and out the whole time.
4. It's on grass... Downside could be a flood
5. We are right on Frisco street and south of enterprise st right across from east parking lot which is perfect
We have decided to take this option and park in the grassy area. I think we have our reservations set with Gina.
LanceC, when can we arrive and come in and park on Thursday?
If we are all going to be scattered all over the place (ie. hotels, parking lots, etc.), then why don't we at least try to get together for dinner somewhere on Friday night? It was fun when we went to the Mexican restaurant last year. Perhaps we could go there again.
That was fun the night before!
I am sure the local peeps can recommend a place when time gets closer.

They don't officially go on sale until tomorrow. Maybe it's only the cheaper seats that were allocated for the presale that are gone.

The grass lots are great until it rains, but then it gets awful. Not just wet grass either - think RV's getting stuck in the mud and having to be towed out. My suggestion would be to secure the pavilion at the green lot on Thursday with EZ-Ups, tents, caution tape, bodies, etc like we did in 2007. Then line up together before the parking lot opens and go in together.
Patrick Gordon aka phlip phlop repairman is coordinating the logistics using this approach. He is a good, trusted friend of mine and I'm glad he stepped up to organize in my absence this year. I've agreed to help by advising him as he runs into problems or has questions about what has worked well for us before.
Unfortunately his work schedule doesn't give him time to manage this thread in the BN format closely from his phone, so he's keeping up with a couple of facebook pages instead. Hopefully everyone can access these links but if not, friend me (Bill Ansel) and ask me to add you;

It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

I'll talk to the hubby, but I'm game for getting married again.

Thank you Bill and Patrick!
YES! Thank you!
I'm not on FB, but if someone can pass the relevant details over here periodically, I'll help wherever I can. I'm off during the week (though often asleep during the day, as it's easier for me to stay nocturnal due to work), so if the occasional errand needs run, let me know.
Also, I like the idea of this approach. I think it will work well to get us all at least mostly in the same area.
