But we are passing the torch after this one on October 27th. We have made our reservations at the Tropical Inn B&B on Duval for MOTM 2014. We are already so excited!

Great!

Hey, PHolks,
Does anyone know about scuba in Key West?
I'll be there a couple of days before the main event and I'd like to do some diving. I'd need a buddy, and some recommendations.

Considering making the trip. Am able to find some reasonable accommodations for a solo traveler for Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday but Friday & Saturday the search is a pain in the a$$ if you know what I mean. :o

If anyone has any knowledge to availability for a single I'd appreciate it if you could shoot me a P.M. (left a message with Suzie a few days back, no response yet).

Just needing a place to chill overnight & gather my bearings in the morning, nothing extraordinary.

Can anyone give me a bit of a backdrop on the Casa "concert" setting, especially for the Coral Reefer Band members shows?
Are there seats, & if so is it limited?
Should I expect to have to be there 1 hr. or more previous to show time to "get a good spot"?

What about the shows for the other trop rockers? Seating an issue?
Thanks!

There are no seats , 1st come, and find a spot to stand, unless you get a lounge chair near the pool , but , that will be a bit far from the stage. A couple of years ago it wasn't to bad getting a spot.

The stage is kinda facing the beach so you could get a lounge chair and have sand between your toes. We use that day as our "beach day" at the Casa. The cabana boys are very nice......especially if you feed them a few drunken gummie bears. 8) I like hanging at the beach and not getting into the fray of the crowd in front of the stage. Some folks are very grumpy and territorial about their "spots"......they can have it. Just remember no seats in front of the stage area.

The year JB was down, the place was packed because it was sold out. Duval St. concert was a nightmare. I don't see that happening this year. Pretty sure there will be elbow room.

For other people playing at the Casa, it's the same drill unless the are playing at the pool bar and then there are tables and chairs. You can order food and drinks. Tom Z (z-man)usually has a schedule posted of all the events over the week all over KW but that usually doesn't come out until just prior to us all hitting the road.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

Monday the 4th? I'm planning on going to Key Largo that day-I wouldn't mind driving a fellow Yankee fan a few extra miles. Let me know.

Yep. The 4th. She doesn't need to be at the Airport in Miami until late in the afternoon/early evening if that works for you Gary.

Seeking trustworthy pirate soul to take a "signed by the author" copy of The BN Critters Collection: Sha-Boobies and other such things
to MOTM and get it further signed by just about anyone and everyone .... but particularly members of the Coral Reefer Band
(all of whom are *official strippers* and appear in various strips within the book) and other Trop Rock musician type peoples
and the various semi-famous bartender, etc. type peoples (Popcorn Jack Terry anyone?) ;-) that inhabit Key West.
Photographs of said signing peoples encouraged to provide authenticity.

The copy of the book, hopefully filled with signatures and not too terribly beer stained, will be offered up for auction
to support a charity TBD (possibly Parties That Matter).

What's in it for you? Well .... take two (2) books with you, get 'em both signed and keep one for yourself.
Plus it is a great conversation starter with topless body painted ladies. :o

Details and logistics to follow. Any volunteers? Multiple people can do this.
I'll provide a *signed* copy of the book AT BELOW COST (less than $10, includes shipping) to get you started.

4 weeks from today I will be enjoying conch fritters and a cold Kalik at Lorelei on Islamorada.
Getting ready to cover the last 80 miles in time to catch Amy Lee and Woody Jenkins at Smokin' Tuna that afternoon.
Looking forward to seeing all those who make it down!

I thought if I started a pile of "take to KW" things, the space/time continuum would acelerate............yeah......no....... :-?

On the bright side, I will be out the door on time for my flight this year! [smilie=battingeyes.gif]
