Leave the roof off. Outdoor show !! the dome was the worst venue for concerts, 9000 degrees in the summer (a/c couldnt keep up) and the giant balloon roof was horrible for the sound. You could be five feet from the stage and hear nothing but you could be at the back row and just hear a thunderous buzz and humm the whole time.

Ted Nugent sounded pretty damn good in there.

Interesting when you take a look at the July leg in comparison with the Tiger schedule. 7/20? Return to Comerica? I know many want Pine Knob but its a possibility ..

I for 1 will take a pass if Comerica is the venue of choice.
Can't speak for the other 30 something thousand knuckleheads who showed up last year though...

If there's any show not just JB in Comerica this year, (which is likely because they have done at least one for 6 years now), it could be over the 4th of July week because they would have 2 full weekends to set up and a week in between. Normally you'd think weekend for a huge show but its a holiday so people would have it off.

There's two show listed for the June run, They could add 5 shows to that and BAM, you're sitting on Thursday JULY 4th.

Not saying its Jimmy but someone will probably be in that spot. Even though most parrotheads want to go back to Pine Knob, the show last year was a huge success and the people in control loved it.

Where's MauiTim???? He usually has some good info.

Makes sense..they had to rake in far more $ that route last year. I'm split, I didn't mind being downtown b/c I for one, actually love Detroit. Yet, love the intimacy of PK.

Amo, any info?

Not really Jimmy's M.O. to play a ballpark more than one time. PNC Park once, Wrigley one weekend, Fenway one weekend. Citizens Bank Park would be the exception, he played there in '05 and '08. If he comes back to Michigan, I'd bet he's back in Clarkston. Fingers crossed, he skipped the area altogether several times in the early and mid 2000s.

That's my guess.

It went back into the late 90's, we were on the once every 3 year plan. No one ever got the real story about what the problem was back then, lots of rumors (fight with ps&e, fingers) but no one ever pinned it down for sure. Im glad whatever it was has been fixed and now there's a fight between Olympia and PS&E over Jimmy. Surprised Ford Field hasnt jumped into the mix but they seem happen to churn out the Chesney show every year now.

I wish Rothbury wouldve made it, that wouldve been a cool one off show for Jimmy here.

Hate to be the Bearer of Bad News for you guys holding out hope for a July 20th show at DTE, but since no one is posting real info here you go.

It isn't happening. Luke Bryan has the show all wrapped up.

Better start hoping for late june or July 4th at DTE or Comerica. July 20th is still open at Comerica for now also. I wouldnt be shocked if Zac jumped on board for a detroit show, they are touring alone most of the summer but also doing some Kenny shows.

If he chooses to go to Comerica again, we will look for a non stadium out of state show to attend.

I don't dislike Detroit, but I do dislike huge venues and prefer a more intimate setting.

Anybody who keeps tabs on the Pine Knob (DTE) website knew the Bryan show was on the schedule a month ago. My source told me late July/early Aug. was what was being negotiated. At this point only Tues. July 23 & Sun. Aug. 4 are booked for PK. Still not sweating YET!

Actually considering going to the Bryan show July 20. However, unless I bail on a Buffett show that I currently hold a ticket to that would put me in Cincy the 16th, Pittsburgh the 18th & back at the hometown venue for Saturday. Makes me feel like I'm 18 again!

Luke Bryan is at the Faster Horses Festival on 7/20...so DTE could still be a possibility that day...

Well....there you have it. I stand corrected. Stupid me for paying attention to Pollstar which is where I saw the Luke Bryan listing, not the PK website like I earlier mentioned. Have to tell the gang at Pollstar that Luke is gonna be at M.I.S. & not D.T.E.!
So lord help me if JB shows up the 20th. 3 shows in 5 nights.... [smilie=graytard.gif] [smilie=shake.gif] [smilie=upsidedown.gif]

I'm keeping Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays open at my backyard patio if Jimmy is looking for a new venue. Free parking and cheap beer.
