OK ALL - PRECONFIRM ANNOUNCEMENT
We have 3 buses this year, those returning BNers who want a seat need to email ME at
bubba@hemingwaysportofcall.com to reserve.
Last year we had 47 people we could not serve. I am holding two buses for "repeaters" until May 1, then will fill up seats with newbies.
Assume price will be around same (35-40/per), bus company said all will be based on gas prices.
Again, email me directly -
bubba@hemingwaysportofcall.com to save your seats.
See you all when the weather suits my clothes!
Steve

June 8th was never rumored in the first place, but it is out as Zac Brown Band officially announced date for Alpine.

How is it that go tickets are already selling seats to a concert that hasn't even been announced yet?

The tickets are not on sale yet. The date of the sale will be announced soon, I am sure.

The August 24th date is looking pretty secure, but there is word out there that the people in Jimmy's camp are not happy about the brokers who are listing tickets already, and they may be trying to negotiate a new date for Alpine.

Well then, it seems as if the people in "Jimmy's camp" need to pull their heads out of their a$$es and confirm the damn date already.
(I already told the Janesville Hooters girls I'd be there that weekend).

Out of curiosity, does anyone know why the tour dates aren't all announced at one time? So many artists (DMB, Bon Jovi etc.) announce their dates all together which I think makes it nice for fans to follow them at other venues. I would assume the dates are made far in advance with the venues but I could be wrong.

Does the confirmed June Indy date give us any new insight if the Aug Alpine date might not seem quite as likely now? Are we hearing anything in terms of timing when this could be settled?

It's because of us. They're still negotiating the details of the tour, but Buffett fans start whining in January about tour dates...so they release them as they come available.

If memory serves me correct (and it is getting a bit hazy these days) Jimmy played Bristow right before Alpine last year so I don't think that geography plays a huge part. Yeah, it would make geographical sense for him to play Alpine shortly after Indy and/or Chicago, but Jimmy being the savvy marketer that he is knows there is a lot of crossover between these shows. Why stack them all together in a week or 10 day period where people would choose only one of the shows to travel too when you can stagger them 4 or 6 weeks apart from each other hoping to entice people to travel to two or three shows. He's smart that Jimmy!!

Weird part is that it was about an hour later before the second one came up

So it seems that Bruce at Two Seasons is advertising the Aug 24 date as a lock. If this is a fact, I really should get back up north and finish planning the late summer bash, rather then an end of June one! They have told me it is getting a bit warmer now.
Come on management, enough with the wait already:-)
Livin and dyin in 3/4 time....

I think it was around March 23 when we officially got our date last year. My money is on AUG, but for personal reasons, I'd prefer a June or July concert.
