An Alpine show for Jimmy is important for him and the theater. This is one of the largest venues that Jimmy plays. If the attendance is any indication of the money that is to be made by his organization (which I would think it is as Jimmy seems to be a successful businessman), then the single show brings him lots of $$$$. Further, Alpine's schedule these days is a far cry from the 70's and 80's when there were multiple shows on some weeks, even mid-week shows. As of this writing, there are only three shows booked for Alpine this summer, one night in June with Zac Brown and two nights in July with Dave Matthews. It seems that Alpine would want to have a big act in August to anchor that month.

The powers that be in Walworth County have been trying to eliminate the theatre for 20 years. Still going "strong"!

Thanks for that much appreciated beacon of hope, Zedagyrl!
Maybe I should start listening to RM more often? Sounds like Kirsten is more in the know than anyone!

NP, I went to my first Alpine show last year and I am HOOKED... If I have to ever choose between my home town show (Indy) and Alpine, Alpine will win... The thought of him not coming is not a good feeling... and if it wasn't going to happen why would RM even mention it....

I reserved 2 rooms at Alpine Valley resort back when August 24th was first announced as a rumor. At that time she said the summer rates were not out yet so I had a reservation with no room rate. Well I got that email yesterday and it was $167 per night. So I am guessing they got the news about the show since that seems like the concert rate not the normal rate!

I don't know. Last time I stayed at the Alpine Inn in 2004 it was $208/night for a concert...I doubt it would go down in price since then..

If you look at the schedule, he always plays 4 shows at a time... and for Aug, a show on the 24th would be the 4th show after NY.. So it makes sense that that's it.. we just need confirmation.. hopefully soon!

I've come to an important decision.
If Jimmy ever finally announces an Alpine show, I won't be going this year.
I have a limited entertainment budget, and there has just been a Paul McCartney show announced at Miller Park. My 6-year-old daughter is a HUGE fan of the Beatles...and this will likely be the last chance she will get to see him live.
Since Buffett dragged his feet, he lost my business for 2013. Maybe next year!!!

Sorry to hear Jim
At least Elena will have lifelong memories of seeing Paul McCartney with her daddy!
I'm also growing more and more frustrated with each passing week. Since early March I've been telling myself "don't worry, any day now". I guess I'll try to keep the faith for a little while longer. Come on, Jimmy!!!

I'm sure they are waiting to announce Alpine until they can sell more seats @ Northerly. There are still plenty of reserved seats available which is somewhat surprising since there aren't a whole lot of reserved seats there. I personally would never go see Jimmy there because the lack of tailgating and the party ambiance, the PITA to get there and park there, and the stupidly high prices of parking down there. Well, maybe it isn't so surprising that ticket sales are so slow for Northerly after all

I've never been to Alpine and would be interested in going this year. Is there a place nearby to have an RV and camp out for the show and tailgate?

Two Seasons Bowl in Elkhorn, WI starting on Thursday before the concert. You have to call the bowling alley to make tour reservation. I have their phone # somewhere and will dig it out and post it if Jimmy's "people" ever pull their heads out of their a$$es and announce a date.

Depends on what you're looking for. You can look at Country View Campground in Mukwonago. The owners are pretty lenient and let people have a good time but they do have the cops shut down the noise around 1am since it can get pretty rowdy. I've heard good things about Two Seasons and my group may end up there this year.
