My Predators have played 2 games, gone to OT in both games, gone to a shootout in both games, and lost the shootout in both games.

May as well throw this one in the mix.
Minor league teams, hockey or baseball,
sometimes have the coolest names ....
And a few years ago Coach Hockeymon led the Critterville Cove Ice Boobies in a BN Critters storyline ....

Brooklyn Bridegrooms?
Brooklyn Burros?
Brooklyn Trolleys? (I was told by someone that the name "DODGERS" was a shortened form of the baseball team's original name "Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers"). LARRY?

I don't know if the team was ever called the Trolley Dodgers, but that's where the name Dodgers comes from. There used to be trolleys in Brooklyn and people dodged the trolleys when they crossed the street. At one time they were called the Brooklyn Superbas, but I have no idea what a "Superba" is

The Dodgers is indeed shortened from Brooklyn Trolleydodgers.
They also played as:
Brooklyn Robins
Brooklyn Superbas
Brooklyn Bridegrooms
Brooklyn Grooms
Brooklyn Grays
Brooklyn Atlantics

This has nothing to do with anything but I think I am picking the Minnesota Wild to upset the world this year.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Oh, way to go out on a limb. Pick the team that went out and spent $196,000,000 on 2 free agents in the off-season to win.
Sorry...the Wild winning would not be considered an upset. You can pick 'em, but don't pretend you're a great prognosticator if they win...

I will predict that Pekka Rinne won't get 70 starts again this season....
2 reasons...
1. The obvious, they will only play 48.
2. Chris Mason looked great last night, shutting down the Wild. Last year, Andres Lindback was terrible as Pekka's relief. I like Lindback, but he didn't get it done.
If you take the % of games played, Pekka's pace from last year would have him starting 41 this season. No chance. Too many back-to-backs. But he's still awesome and should contend for the Vezina again.

By the way, it was awesome seeing Ryan Suter, in his first game against the Predators since bailing out for the huge contract in the off-season, ending up with a -2 +/- rating. Great defense, Ryan! Guess you needed Shea Weber by your side more than he needed you!!!
