It's true! I read it on the internet!
"Coyote Ugly at HarborWalk Village would be joined by another new restaurant, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, which will open in the former home of the Lucky Snapper.
Rumors have swirled for months that the island-themed restaurant would be coming to Destin, joining Buffett’s beach hotel in Pensacola and Margaritaville restaurant at Pier Park in Panama City Beach."
No mention yet of an opening date.

Well, those rumors we've been hearing for over a year seem to be true. Scott and Jenny and Cat and I need a table for four!

Here's a picture of the Lucky Snapper (now closed for a while), many reviews said it had the best view in the area:

Yep that's the old Snapper, but you won't believe the changes that have occurred on the East Pass. Local developer, Peter Bos, has erected The Emerald Grande at Harborwalk Village just to the left of this picture. Now, twin multi-story condos plus a shopping and dining district have taken over area on Destin harbor. The concept of rejuvenating the harbor area is a good one, but the quaintness of "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village", has gone the way of development. It is a risky proposition to open a restaurant in this location. Here's the short list of restaurants that have come and gone in the past five years since Harborwalk opened. Commander's Palace and Pat Brien's of NOLA fame. The Shed BBQ, Lucky Snapper, Tightlines, etc. have all invested heavily and then found that the rent was too high for the amount of business. The proposed Margaritaville will be another component of the Harborwalk. We hope that enough tourist traffic will find their way there along with a parking place.
