Greatest Set List of All Time?

Post by krusin1 »

Okay.... I've been wanting to do some kind of "ultimate" set list thing for a while now. You know, something where as a group, BN'ers could vote on 30 songs or so in an attempt to assemble the perfect show.

Haven't figured out how exactly to do that one yet. :-?

So instead, how about this?

Take a look at the Set List database. Choose the ONE show (from any time/date/place) that in your opinion is THE BEST.

The first 14 responses posted will get put into a new thread with a POLL. Then we can all vote and choose...

THE GREATEST SET LIST OF ALL TIME

Who knows... maybe Jimmy will see the "GREATEST SET LIST" and decide to replicate it. :D
(Doubtful... but ya never know. )

Here we go! :D

I was at that show and I remember walking out and thinking it was the tightest best performed show I think I'd seen from JB.

They brought it that night.

PS: That was the night I got in a fight with the angry ------- because I wouldn't sit down and she was too chubby to stand up all show.

The 2000 show was the first time I saw JB in Vegas and I walked away hating everything about the show.

Funny how this perception thing works.

OK, my favorite show I ever attended was the first show at Wrigley Field back in 2005. Got to hang with my dear phriend Paula, saw several BNers, and was floored by the encore with Jimmy & Mac sitting in the bleachers doing "City Of New Orleans".

In hindsight, the setlist itself was kind of "meh"....but the memories have overpowered that.

A Salty Piece Of Land Tour
Wrigley Field – Chicago IL
Sunday September 4th, 2005

Star Spangled Banner (video from 1983 with Jimmy at Wrigley Field)
Hot Hot Hot

1 Piece Of Work
2 Ragtop Day
3 Hey Good Lookin’
4 I Will Play For Gumbo
5 Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes
6 Come Monday
7 Last Mango In Paris
8 Woman Goin’ Crazy On Caroline Street
9 License To Chill
10 Son Of A Son Of A Sailor
11 Cheeseburger In Paradise
12 Volcano
13 Brown Eyed Girl

Intermission

14 Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw
15 La Vie Dansante
16 Banana Republics
17 Southern Cross
18 School Boy Heart
19 A Pirate Looks At Forty
Take Me out to the Ball Game (video of Jimmy singing with Harry Carry glasses on)
20 The City
21 It's Five O'Clock Somewhere
22 One Particular Harbour
23 Margaritaville

First Encore:
24 Fins
Band Intros
25 Scarlet Begonias

Second Encore:
26 City Of New Orleans (Jimmy and Mac sitting in the top row of the right field bleachers)

Notes:
Attendance: 39,500 (Sold-Out)
Jimmy wore a yellow T-shirt with “New Orleans” lettered on the front

Day 2 at Wrigley was different for me...I worked backstage, fed the band before the show, and had an all-access pass during the show. Spent a few minutes backstage, but mostly hung out near 2nd base to watch the show.
