Larry,
You can stay with us! I have an empty spare bedroom that you are welcome to use - no charge! As long as you like dogs, we have 2.
What kind of dogs? But seriously, if it isn't an imposition, thanks Pam.
If there's no charge then dinner the night before the show is on me. Is there a Hooters in Austin?

The two in the front and their only flaw is they are needy love sponges. If you will pet them, they are your friends for life. Sadly we lost Maggie (the big dog in the back) last year.
It is never an imposition to have phriends over! We'd love to have ya'. We could probably pay James to give up his room too if we need more space. LOL! Of course we have a Hooters here! Several, in fact.

Thanks, and now the next step is to find airfare that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Every place I used to fly to is a shorter trip from here than from NY but the fares are all higher.

We are but I am also trying to get more info on the RV parking with hookups. I sent email yesterday but they haven't replied.
BTW, Larry, what are your thoughts on getting there Wednesday for tailgating and staying in the RV?

I can not figure out how to PM from the iPad ... Don and I are interested, we will be coming down on Thursday morning and then most likely driving back to Waco after the show, so we can head to Frisco bright and early

. I can read PM's but can't figure out to initiate them from the iPad.

We are staying closer to the airport
La Quinta Inn & Suites
Austin Airport
7625 East Ben White Blvd
Austin, TX 78741
Phone: 1-512-386-6800
Fax: 1-512-386-8785
I have stayed at that hotel last fall during football season and it's not the nicest. There is a Marriott across the hiway that is much better. We are staying at the Hampton Inn on Governor's Row near the airport. Haven't stayed there though.

Billy is a good guy, a fellow parrothead, and a good ol Texas Aggie deep in the heart of Austin. He spends some time down on the coast and is really just a great guy. Come by and have a cold beer before the show with us!

So I took a look with the crappy internet at I have at folks house at buying parking. You can buy parking throiugh ticketmaster now. It has lots A and F in the one day option. Most likely the lot is assigned when you get there.
If we don't want to take that chance and someone is willing to go ahead and buy our bulk passes together let me know. I won't be able to do this until late Sunday night.
So far there are 5 that want in out group. If we get a couple of extra spots then we can have some tailgating room. What do you say?
Btw - I'm on my crackberry that is on its last leg typying this post.

It might not be the nicest, but it works and it is close to the venue

I have emailed the venue about some clarification about parking. Hopefully I will get an answer, I think in is a GA parking pass and does not get you a specific spot so we may have to come up with a stratagy to get in and get close to BEG's RV for tailgating. From looking I think the H lot is RV and maybe the F will be closest.... I am not sure ..........BEG did they give you an assigned spot?

I'm going to be in Austin over spring break and was going to scope out a meet up place for Thursday morning close to the track. I've never been out that far so I will let you know what I find.
The hotels at Riverside and 290/71 (airport locations) are the closest to where we need to be.

When I bought the RV parking, it specifically said it was not an assigned spot. First come, first served. Doesn't look like RV parking is anywhere near the rest of it.
