Sure would like to see it be as great as Frisco tailgating was several years ago when I was there. Golf Carts allowed, etc.

I am not sure what time we are headed to Frisco on Friday but if we are still in Waco we will meet up....

Hi everyone, I just joined the group and am going to the Austin show on 5/2. I'm bringing my husband who- (gasp!) - has never been to a Buffett show. I just wanted to say hello and hopefully find a cool group to tailgate with that are die hard parrotheads like myself. I want to show him what it's all about and I can't wait!! I live in Austin so if anyone has any questions on the venue or lodging I'm happy to answer. I had the best time tailgating in Frisco and hope this year will be even more fun at the track.

didn't make it to Austin over the weekend. For those going to KC, if yall can scope out a place to meet up that would be great.

We missed Frisco last year, and were going this year when I found out about this Austin show. Since we live 20 mins away, we're going to try Austin this year. First concert at the amphitheater is tonight. It's been all over the news today. I hope it lives up to all the hype. So excited to see Jimmy again!

Kenny was fantastic! So much energy!! Great acoustics. A little disappointed in the venue and hoping they are still improving on it. The bathrooms were porta-pottys and when it got dark, it was impossible to see inside! I highly recommend bringing a flashlight just in case they haven't changed this situation. The supplied paper was also the lowest qualities, ladies. It got really chilly at night as there is nothing to stop the breeze around the area. There are not enough places to sit down before the concert but there are plenty of things to do. Beer was either $8 or $9.50 depending on the vendor you bought it from. The walk from the parking lots is a LONG way so I recommend comfortable shoes. The walkways are also gravel and uneven which can be tricky. The stairs down to the floor levels are not lit either (another reason for the flashlight) and can be dangerous. The screen around the stage is small and there is only one.

I had a co worker who went to see Kenny as well. The report I received was mixed. They had to walk about two miles from the parking lot. My colleague was in the reserved seated section, which is apparently sloped very well, however, the lawn is "square" and is flat with no slope. They had friends on the lawn that couldn't see anything once the show began, because it was impossible to see the stage after everyone stood up. They watched the entire show on the screen that they could barely see.

As a lawn veteran, this concerns me.

If this venue has so many issues, why did Bubba skip The Woodlands, which is a superb venue in my opinion? Seems like the Austin venue has some issues.

We will do our venue test run at the ZBB show on the 18th. I hope they work out the bathrooms, that is an odd problem to have for such a large venue! (maybe it is different for the races).
It is new and I doubt the kinks will be worked out by Buffett but maybe it will improve over the next few months.

Was there any tailgating at KC? I was wondering about that layout?

What time are people going to be arriving on the 2nd? We are game for whatever, we will be in the car so not a lot of room from much 'stuff' but we can certainly bring some sausages and buns to share if there will be a grill.
