Stranded cruise ship/mother in law

My wife was talking to her mother earlier today about a cruise they are going on in may. During the conversation the stranded cruise ship topic came up. Sarah's mom made the comment that being on the powerless ship is probably no different than a rainy day on the beach. I wonder if the people on the ship feel the same as my mother in law does!?!

A rainy day at the beach you can go back to the hotel, or home if you're not on vacation. A powerless cruise ship, you're f**ked. And not in a good way.

Of course she does...she has electricity, food, and doesn't have to hold a plastic bag to her backside when she has to....oh never mind you get the point.

Great attitude,

but not practical from the conditions I've heard. No food, no running water, no toilets, horrible stench, etc..

IMHO, another reason why I won't go on a cruise. It has nothing to do with being claustrophobic...ok, partially. But if you are on cruise ship, you are trapped.

I can't even imagine how awful it is on that boat. Ugh! Sewage, lack of food, no running water, no power.
And being dragged slowly back to port by a tug......

I picture it as a floating version of the 2005 Superdome. Which means I'd want no part of it.
I wonder if they have an open bar? You'd think that would be the least they could do, unless they've already run out of booze. They took on supplies from another ship, but probably only staples.

Since this is the second time it's happened, I've DEFINITELY crossed Carnival off of my list as potential cruise lines! I went on one Carnival cruise and it was sort of like a floating Motel 6.

I'll be so happy when those passengers get home to their families, friends and loved ones. What a nightmare!

Funny thing about this is the fact that Connie (who once told me she never wants to go on any type of cruise)
told me just last week that she was starting to think a cruise would be nice. We had a good laugh about that
last night.

Check into how many cruise lines Carnival owns!

Why would they want to eat staples?

Just heard the tug that was towing them in broke it's line.
Waiting for yet another tug to finish the job.
