Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in.

Not a problem. I like you hope very much that they are legit. Looks like sales are pretty slow for the show. I've been keeping track on how many seats under the roof are left, to me it looks like its not very full (around 2/3 sold). So I wouldn't be suprised if those go on sale for around $50 sometime within the next 2 weeks, much like they did last year. What worries me is with the weak demand, when is Alpine going to be too big for him?

I'm more worried about Alpine in general. Only shows this year are DMB and Buffett. I wonder if they are focusing on the new Chicago venue to see if that works out (Live Nation runs both). Maybe next year they will have more shows. Or maybe it will be closing soon, which would be a shame. I really like the venue. Not too hot on the "resort" though. Pretty run down for the price they charge, but it is the closest place to stay after the show! Hoping they have our rooms ready early on Saturday morning so we can get to the lot!

I heard of someone getting an email cancellation. Probably only a matter of time.

Another LiveNation Buffett blunder.

I have no interest in going to Alpine because I'll be on Long Island for the 2 Jones Beach shows 8/20 & 8/22, but after reading about this I tried for a ticket just for laughs. Five minutes ago a lawn ticket was $48, not free.

Wisconsin and jimmy buffett just don't sound right in the same sentence to me. I would have a hard time getting in the mood for this show. But that's just me, for those going, have a great time. :)

What if I told you I have a PAVILLION ticket that's yours FREE if you want it?
So what time should I pick you up at the airport?

P.S.-FREE

That may very well be your opinion cj, but it's still a rotten thing to say! :o

I could actually see how someone living in Florida could feel that way, but Pennsylvania???

I truly believe you'd have a much different opinion after attending a Buffett show at Alpine.

By the way, it's spelled Wisconsin.

Sorry I didn't mean to mispell it, I was typing on my phone. I didn't mean anything rude by it, just personally I would have a hard time getting in the mood for a buffett show in one of the Midwest states.
I see your point about Pennsylvania, and truthfully I haven't been to a Pennsylvania show in 10 years. Each year I attend the August Virginia show and a show in Florida including Jacksonville this year. I'm sure the alpine tailgate is incredible and again I hope you all have a great time at the show. Once again my apologies if my post offended anyone, it was not intended to.

No worries, cj. I shouldn't have gotten so excited. I can get a bit defensive sometimes when it comes to my city/state/region, etc. I'd probably feel the same way if I lived in Wyoming.

Take care! :)

Living in Indiana, it is not always easy to get the coast between life and work. I view Jimmy Buffett in the midwest as the one time a year I can have a beach party with my friends. We pretend the ocean is in the back ground, we grill shrimp and drink rum drinks. We bring swimming pools, sand and hope for a warm dry tropical like sunny day... It is a few hours a year we get to wear grass skirts, coconut bras and straw hats. So as Jimmy often says - Margaritaville is a state of mind, so we find our one particular harbor for a few hours in own back yards.....

BN's resident traveling mascot is coming to ALPINE! Don't miss this rare opportunity to party with DUCKETT in the parking lot before the show! Duckett will be hanging out in the premier VIP lot, on the center isle near the main gate. Stop by and take a photo of our favorite naughty duck on your way in to the venue! Call 608-335-1242 for more details and exact location.

Combine Bus?

I have a crew of about 16 people leaving from the Milwaukee area early Saturday afternoon. We have a Lamer's bus booked, but we had a large number of people back out. We are open to combining with a group of like-minded individuals. We're an assortment of 20 and 30 year olds who like to get weird. Email ajrooney65@gmail.com if interested.

Thanks

Almost a decade of tailgates at Alpine, this is our first year at Alpine Valley Resort. Any idea of what to expect, tailgating rules, walk to main parking lot, etc?
Thanks,
Jake

It's the very harmless 'weird.' I didn't know what other way to say we love to have fun. But I guess saying just that would have worked fine...

I have some friends that stayed at the resort a few years ago...... they were not happy with their room..... smelled musty and outdated décor. I think they paid $250/night. Hopefully for you they have done some updating since then..... one good thing... you won't have far to walk after the concert..... good luck! :D
