This is only the second time Jimmy has been back since they decided to allow tailgating at all. I see this year as a regression from last year when the lots opened at 3. My hope is that enough people show up for a Saturday show that they have to open the lots earlier because of traffic issues. I honestly thought the show the year tailgating was banned was the worst I've ever attended. It was so strange walking into the venue, everyone was quiet, no pre-concert excitement, the lawn not even half full. And in my opinion the lack of crowd energy translated directly into the lack of energy on the stage.

This used to be a tremendous place to tailgate. Pay $20, get to park at noon, keep it in a cup, don't be underage and don't be an idiot and all was good. Ah, the good old days. . . .

I hate to admit it, but I think I enjoyed the tailgate ban year so much because the pavilion was SO empty. I got to kick my feet up in my seat and relax, dead sober, and enjoy the concert for exactly what it was with no interference of any sort. It's the closest to a private show that I'll ever get. The vibe was bad, but it was still a good show. I'm just disappointed that Jimmy passed up the opportunity to have anything memorable to say about the situation.

You guys have a blast. We're leaving Myrtle Beach now and won't be at the show. Good luck hearing Nautical Funk. Also, if someone will update when the lots open, my in-laws are wanting to tailgate as much as allowed. Fins up!
