$158 is out of my range to see him. Might take it to Alpine this year. Also wondering if lawn will be less.

wow thats a crazy price...These prices are way to high for the lawn seats. I don't see him getting 30k when lawn seats are 160 a piece. If it was an all day show or had more opening acts it could be worth it but this is nuts...

I wonder if/when and where we'll find out details on tailgating (if there is any)?

So far Live Nation is only showing the $158 price and no other price for the lawn area!!

I wonder how much the city of Chicago and the cash strapped Park District are adding to this price. The news reported that LiveNation is covering the cost of the expansion, so I'm sure that we are actually paying for this with these prices. Are Phish tickets just as expensive?

I think $158 with all fees is pretty close to what we paid last year for Tinley...

I agree with you on the seats. That is the going rate for years. What I'm talking about is lawn seats. the lawn seats should be around 50 after fees.

Yep. I'll be disgusted if we have to pay $158 for lawn seats in a venue that's going to seat 30K people.
Of course, I'll probably s*** it up and by them anyway. But man...

I might be in the minority...but I'm more excited about the chance of there being a beach party than if/where there will be tailgating.

I keep reading about 22,000 additional "lawn" seats. They must be referring to the banks of bleachers surrounding the venue, right? There's the "floor" seating that's right on the pavement, then the bleachers. There's no hill or incline for any lawn.
Last time I saw it, the venue had to be temporary and torn down each fall. With this expansion, will it remain in place all year now?

It's a bit confusing.... There's going to be 2 configurations of the venue:
1 will be the "regular" <10,000 seat venue like it's been. The other will be the 22,000 lawn seats and stage rotates to the SE I guess.
The news said only Buffett and Phish will use the expanded configuration. I'm not sure if the SE facing stage will be permanent or not.
I'm guessing to sell 22,000 lawn seats they won't price them on $158. Or at least hoping.
It might even be too soon for the city or LiveNation to know what's going on.

Lawn tickets will be $36 plus fees. Tailgating will be allowed but I'm not sure where (maybe Soldier Field?)

Based on the Live Nation image, I'd guess that the red areas will be the bleacher seating. There will be an open area in the middle with no bleachers, and the lawn area will be behind the chair seating. 100, 200 and 300 seating would all be at the same elevation, no? Kinda like Toyota Park field seating? I guess if the stage is high enough you'd be able to see from the lawn. Maybe. 22,000 is a lot of people to sit/stand behind.

Phish is playing three nights in row July 19, 20 and 21 here is the pricing information for the individual shows:
US $45.00 - US $60.00
US $45.00 Ticket + US $13.13 Fees/Additional Taxes = US $58.13
US $60.00 Ticket + US $14.70 Fees/Additional Taxes = US $74.70
There is also a three show ticket available for $150 per ticket

It' still temporary and the lawn is not a hill like other venues but flat also the seats have no roof over them like pavilions at other venues do.
Here is the seating as posted by live nation note the green arrows pointing to the lawn seats:
