The news reported that LiveNation is covering the cost of the expansion, so I'm sure that we are actually paying for this with these prices. Are Phish tickets just as expensive?
Phish is playing three nights in row July 19, 20 and 21 here is the pricing information for the individual shows:
US $45.00 - US $60.00
US $45.00 Ticket + US $13.13 Fees/Additional Taxes = US $58.13
US $60.00 Ticket + US $14.70 Fees/Additional Taxes = US $74.70
There is also a three show ticket available for $150 per ticket
Phish has always had more reasonable priced tickets than most artists. $74.70 vs. $158 for the same seats. Not to mention a 3 show ticket is still cheaper than a 1 show ticket for JB.

Some more info in this blog post on the Sun-Times site...
http://blogs.suntimes.com/music/2013/03 ... nsion.html
We will increase the pedestrian walkway up Lynn White Drive, giving half of the boulevard over to pedestrians, and we'll increase our [parking lot] trolleys, too. Soldier Field is set up for 65,000; this venue will be 30,000. We have enough parking.
No mention of tailgating...but looking at that pic...I'm excited at the opportunity to sink my toes in the sand while listening to Jimmy play live! The venue definitely gives it the festival vibe.

So does anyone know if there will be a lower price for lawn seats? I saw the Chicago Sun Times article for the "New" Notherly Island and it looks sweet. Gives a real beach theme to the Buffett Show!

There is no information being made available at this point regarding pricing for lawn seats for Jimmy's show. Live Nation is only showing 1 ticket price for Jimmy's show which is US $131.00 Ticket + US $27.05 Fees/Additional Taxes = US $158.05 per ticket. Other artists scheduled to play the same venue have multiple tickets prices listed for their shows but not for Jimmy's show
With ticket's for Jimmy show going on sale in 5 days (4/1) I would think if there were going to be more then 1 price the information would have been posted by now.

No way $158 would get you a front row assigned seat as well as a back row blade of grass....right? There's gotta be more to this....right?
We have our hotel (courtyard river north - come join!) for 2 nights already, but looks like we'll be holding out on buying tickets now.

According to the Live Nation website there is only one ticket price for the Buffett show while others have multiple prices. One would think if there was going to be multiple pricing it would have been posted by Live Nation by now with tickets going on sale Monday morning.

Just got an email from Live Nation. Still only has the one ticket price listed. Looking at the artist rendering they basically rotated the entire venue 45 degrees.

I know Jimmy is always out to maximize $$$, but if the lawn seats go for $150, that will be another level.

If there is going to be a lower price for lawn seats it must be the best kept secret in Chicago at the moment as the price has not been posted anywhere for public consumption.

Don't be holding your breathe...... My guess it will still be over 100 for a "lawn/dirt" seat

I seem to remember other years where lawn seat prices were posted later than the reserved seats. I am sure there will be a lower price for the lawn.
I think the setting sounds wonderful, but as someone with some mobility issues, the logistics concern me, especially given that this is the first time for this sized crowd at this venue.

About the same as everywhere else with a lawn. I'm assuming that's the price before upcharges, Indy has $12+ in fees, Riverbend $10+, Pittsburgh $12+. Ends up being a $45 to $48 ticket.
