A true legend. Perhaps "the" Nashville legend.
I wonder if Jimmy will do a cover song in Nashville to honor George?

Walking around downtown Nashville, people here are pretty somber. And for good reason.
Sail on, Mr. Jones.

Sail on George...
I saw George Jones and Merle Haggard play at the State Fair back in 1989, and over the years heard him team up with a lot of greats for duets or other performances.
Never was a huge huge fan, but always respected what he did. Any song he did, he made interesting and he made it his own.
Best comment I ever heard about George Jones came from Garth Brooks... they did the song "Beer Run" together a while back. After it was done, Garth said he knew he had to let it all out, but no matter what he did, George always seemed to top him.
In Garth Brooks' own words...
"I think I can describe that day: it was the least I’ve ever been p*** off at getting out-sung. It was an honor to get my ass kicked that day."
Check out the song... I think Garth was right..
We've lost another of the great ones...

Thank you for posting the you tube of Vince and Patty
I watched the service online at work on the Opry's website , a great tribute to an american icon for sure,
I have seen Vince Gill perform this live many times and he is an incredible guitar player and talent.

Here's a "WTF" for you. Then again, the inclusion of Megadeth speaks to just how wide of an audience the ol' Possum reached...
