I'm definitely trying. Considering I like most of the bands listed...
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

I like most of the acts. If I can pull a good seat, I go. If not, no lost sleep.

I don't know or like all of them but no one is going to do that many numbers and it's the overall experience I'm after. I've already told everyone at work not to expect me the next day. The Sandy concert at MSG didn't end til after 1AM if I remember correctly. Good luck Monday!lime rickie wrote:I like most of the acts. If I can pull a good seat, I go. If not, no lost sleep.

This is True.....still , can't do it though....saving the Money, and Vacation Days for Cape / Buffett in June . Key West / Dolphins game in November , and about 5 Golf Tournaments i'm playing in ( as of now)lime rickie wrote:May 30th is AFTER Memorial Day weekend.TommyBahama wrote:I like some Drop Kick Murphy's stuff. Tickets on-sale May 6th 10am... I can't find prices yet but if we pool our kidneys that is a good place to start!
They also announced that tickets are all going to be paperless in an effort to cut down on scalping.
Best news is no Drop Kick Murphy's... they are in NM that night... thankfully!
ticket prices i thought i saw were 238.00 to 38.00. Thursday night would be tough , especially with my job leading into Memorial Day weekend.
btw i see they will be paperless tickets to cut down on the scalping.

Re: Who's Going to Boston May 30th? (Buffett, James Taylor ...)
I'm sure Boston has some curfew laws that require shows ending at certain time, probably sometime around 11pm or 12am. With all these performers it's unlikely anyone would be on stage for more than 30 minutes which is about 5 or 6 songs. I'm sure Dane Cook and Steven Wright will be used for the in-between musical act entertainment.
But I'm not going to just see one single performer I'm going to see the collective entertainment. But I really hope there is at least one JB and JT duet.

They may waive that considering what it's for. Can someone explain to me how paperless ticketing works?
I'm assuming it has something to do with my iPhone??
However. I'm not going to order the tix on my phone.
I know.....I'm pathetic

When you arrive at the venue, just go directly to the gate and present the credit card you used to purchase the tickets along with your government-issued ID to the ticket attendant. They will scan your credit card to validate your order and present a seat locator slip for each ticket ordered. Since all the seats from the purchase are assigned to a single credit card, your entire party must be present to enter the venue.

Keep Lenny Clark away, Boston has suffered enough already.
I am still wondering if the concert will be on TV as part of a telethon.

Gah! Monday is orientation day for my new job! And I have to go to their actual office, not working at home for orientation. So I am counting on my sister to score me a seat.ScarletB wrote:I don't know or like all of them but no one is going to do that many numbers and it's the overall experience I'm after. As far as the acts, Jimmy and JT always worth a listen. I will enjoy Boston, and J Geils if they are doing something that ISN"T Centerfold. Comedians can be a good interlude. All in all, not a bad Thursday night in town.

Thanks, I figured it was something like that. And hopefully it keeps the tickets available for "real" people!

Dropkick does SO MUCH for Boston. They already have had one benefit show for it. I am actually very disappointed that DKM will not be there, if they were to be there, I would consider going to see them.

Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?

There is no denying how much the Dropkick Murphy's do for Boston with charity for a lot of different things. They are usually the first band offering their time which is great. I just think their music is terrible.Nighthawk wrote:

Mexico? Fire and Rain?
I was at Great Woods in the mid-90's and JT joined JB on stage and they sang Mexico together. Last summer at a 4th of July show in Mass Taylor Swift joined JT on stage for Mexico so maybe that's the go to duet. Plus Mexico is a song JB does sing occasionally.
Also wouldn't be surprised to hear JB sing Dave Loggins' "Please Come to Boston" which he sang at a Great Woods show in the early 2000's. And you'd have to think one of the performers will belt out "Dirty Water" unless the Standells show up as a surprise guest and do it themselves.

I wonder who the headliner is suppose to be, if there is one.....my guess is everyone on stage at the same time doing.....sweet caroline.BottleofRum wrote:I'm sure Boston has some curfew laws that require shows ending at certain time, probably sometime around 11pm or 12am.
