The Legend Lives on...

From the Chippewa on down of the big lake the called Gitche Gumee....

Living in Michigan, you are likely to hear the Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald played on the radio frequently.

I will admit to chills last night while hearing Gordon Lightfoot do the song live in concert.

You rang?
This year will mark 38 years since the sinking, hard to believe. That was certainly big news in Michigan.

Hi Chip! I sure doesn't seem like that long ago. We travel frequently in the U.P. and it is still fresh in the minds of the residents there. Have been to Whitefish bay (mentioned in the song) and on a trip to Copper Harbor our tour boat was given permission to circle around a freighter that was traveling past the Keweenaw peninsula. They are so huge and our little boat was like a toy next to it.
