Can anyone who DVR'd it burn a copy for Gunthermoose? I have no means to do it and considering that he practically kills himself every year feeding the GW crowd I'd like him to get one. They were on vacation at the time of airing.

Yes he did but he got his timeline mixed up. He said the YouTube video shot in Central Park of While My Guitar Gently Weeps is what allowed him to meet, and play with, a lot of different musicians. I'm pretty sure that video wasn't on YouTube until 2006. The first time he played with Buffett and the Reefers was at the Waikiki Shell in April, 2005.
This is true. Jake was 'viral' on BN before the youtube video sensation, for whatever that's worth, though the video was already out there.

The video was first shared on BN amongst all of the hype over the new ukulele player in June 2005... it wasn't YouTube, and it's now a dead link, but here it was.

This article said that Mac saw him live and told Jimmy about him... http://archives.starbulletin.com/2005/0 ... tory2.html
"Buffett had been a fan of Shimabukuro's music, but it was a longtime member of his Coral Reefer Band, guitarist and vocalist Mac McAnally, who convinced him that "this kid is the real deal."

McAnally had heard Shimabukuro live and suggested to Buffett that the Hawaii musician should sit in for a few songs during the band's April show at the Waikiki Shell."

First BN mention of the video on YouTube was February 2007, almost 2 years after we were abuzz about him!
