Got the DVR set for Jake and One Voice tonight on PBS.

Here in "Normal" this is on at 8:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time and then rebroadcast at 1:00 a.m.

Fantastic program about Jake.

Really nice documentary. Wish there had been more clips of him playing, but that wasn't what this was all about. Can't wait to see him again this fall!

Great talent and also a pretty awesome human being. So glad he's getting the notice he deserves. I liked that his music ran through the whole thing even when they weren't showing him actually playing. Hoping he makes a trip to Boston again soon.

Most impressive - and thoroughly enjoyable. Who knew that, in the right hands, a uke could make such music?

I thought it was a really nice piece... could have gone another hour though to include a few more performances! And I'm surprised it took so long to produce that the new baby wasn't included.

I was tickled by him going back to try to find the spot where they filmed the original While My Guitar Gently Weeps YouTube video, which was definitely a springboard! Then again, the YouTube lady said 5 years ago, and the initial excited threads on BN about the new ukulele player on the tour were all 2005, so her interview must have been a bit dated. Jake said 6 or 7 years ago I believe, which was closer.

It really captured how humble, genuine, friendly, and talented Jake is. When he meets and greets at his shows, it's astonishing just how truly compassionate of a person he is. Way to go, Jake! Can't wait to see you at the Pabst in November!

Cindi, aka balcony girls is flying up here for that one, and while she watched last night they ran a ticker about his show on June 10th in St Petersburg, so she bought a 2nd row center ticket for that as well!

Yes he did but he got his timeline mixed up. He said the YouTube video shot in Central Park of While My Guitar Gently Weeps is what allowed him to meet, and play with, a lot of different musicians. I'm pretty sure that video wasn't on YouTube until 2006. The first time he played with Buffett and the Reefers was at the Waikiki Shell in April, 2005.
