My Flag friends can't make the PHX show. Gonna ponder over the weekend and try to decide.
It was Denver for me, then PHX was announced so I was leaning that way. But now all arrows are pointing towards Denver. For me, there is a big difference in the cost of air/car rental between the two cities. That helps the decision!
Where are folks thinking about staying? We're thinking about getting a room for the night.
There's a new SpringHill Suites right across from the Pepsi Center. It's brand new, but the rates look super pricey for that night. You can actually Hotwire a fare at Hotel Teatro (where the band will probably stay unless they are across the street at the new Four Seasons) for the same price as the Spring Hill Suites rooms.
There is also the Curtis Hotel, which is kinda campy but a lot of fun. All of those are within walking distance or a super quick cab ride from the Pepsi Center to the hotel. Other hotels you would probably want to take a cab to, but there are a ton of them in Downtown and I'm happy to give advice (my office is right across from the Curtis Hotel so I spend a lot of time in the area where you are looking for room).
For those of you coming in on Oct 21 (or earlier), I'm happy to throw together a BN get together at the new(ish) Casa Capraro (we've moved since P and E's wedding). We have gobs of room for entertaining.

...and if you haven't used Hotwire before, I can tell you how to figure out which one is the Hotel Teatro. When I looked last night, there was a $350 nite fare for the Four Seasons, also.

I'm flying in on Sun, then heading down to Garden of the Gods & Pikes Peak before coming back to Denver Mon afternoon. I'll stay in Denver Mon & Tues night. Everything close to the arena is high. I might be a couple of miles away, but thats not a problem. Mt daughter who is 14, will be making the trip with me. We'll be waking up on Wed and headed up to Boulder/Longmont to stop at some breweries and doing Rocky Mtn Nat Park on Thurs. Its back to Den on Fri to fly home on Sat.
Hotel VQ Denver by the stadium is not too expensive. It looks like its an older hoter, but the reviews are pretty good.

I haven't stayed there, but it's a pretty easy drive from Hotel VQ to Pepsi Center, also. It's kinda fun-looking because it is cylindrical.
You should check out betterbidding.com if you're not afraid of booking through Hotwire and Priceline. Some very good deals to be found if you know the tricks. Good for car rentals, also.
