This is from the Sheena Is Pushin' 50 Tumblr blog:
JIMMY BUFFETT
Friday, December 2, 1983
Norfolk Scope
Norfolk, VA
Ticket Price: $12.50

I had moved away from DC, back to Virginia Beach, at the time. Things weren’t working out so well for me, so my Dad sent me a bus ticket to come back to DC. I stopped in the Holiday Inn by Norfolk Scope, probably to have a drink before getting on the bus, and met some guys who worked for a TV network. They told me that Jimmy Buffett was playing across the street, so I turned in the bus ticket for a $20 refund and bought a ticket. Probably not the smartest thing I’ve ever done, and actually quite typical.

Buffett was a lot cooler back then … before he became an entire industry.

The first set was him, solo, on acoustic guitar, with an actual “set” representing a Caribbean bar, complete with ceiling fan above. It warmed the soul on this cold and rainy December evening—made it easy to forget the weather outside.

The Coral Reefers came out for the second set, when all the scenery was cleared away, except for a “moon,” which had risen and set during the evening’s performance. Truly unforgettable.
Thanks for posting this, Tiki. I found the thread interesting.

You just never know what you might find on the innerwebs, especially since so many of these earlier shows haven't been documented in the same way they are now.
