Jimmy Buffett, Guy Clark and Jerry Jeff Walker in Austin in the 1970's as photographed by Scott Newton for the
Austin Chronicle. This is the context in which I first heard of Buffett. More photos

Aw hell admit it.
If most of us saw 1970's JB today we'd tell him to cut his hair and get a job.

Not I. I'll take 1970's Buffett over corporate/casino Buffett, Inc. any day of the week.

My hair is now down past my shoulders
and I'm not working (early retired) any more.
So that's pretty much what my wife wants tell me every day.

Not a real shock here.

I'll also be first in line the on August 20th when
Songs from St. Somewhere goes on sale, just as I've been for every new Buffett studio record since the 70's. However, my preference for his 70's material isn't likely to change, especially this late in his career. And that's all it is, a preference, not a condemnation of everything that followed.
