I haven't heard any reports from the show on the 14th but evidently the all request concert and the complete performance of Songs From St. Somewhere didn't materialize at the Beachcomber concert.Dr.Corona wrote:Hope that all request setlist knocked everyone's socks off!

Everyone that I know that went had a great time and even got to meet Jimmy. The set lists were pretty standard but he did play island as a part of a medley to close out Saturdays show. Request show or not everyone had a great time. Sure the request show would have been cool, but from all the pictures I saw, no one seemed to care.

I have no doubt that everyone had a great time. When nothing more was said about an all request show (or playing Songs From St. Somewhere all the way through) I kind of suspected nothing would become it. It never hurts to ask.jbfinscj wrote:Tiki Torches wrote:I haven't heard any reports from the show on the 14th but evidently the all request concert and the complete performance of Songs From St. Somewhere didn't materialize at the Beachcomber concert.Dr.Corona wrote:Hope that all request setlist knocked everyone's socks off!

He actually did play one request. Parrothead Red and Irishfiregirl met him on Thursday before the first concert. Red asked him to play Island, and Jimmy told him he would work on it. Well, for the last song of the night, Jimmy sang it and dedicated it to Parrothead Red. As far as I know, that is the only request but it was pretty cool.

set list request or not, this was a special night in Hawaii for sure! Jimmy was in a great mood and was having a blast on stage.. Him playing Island after Red and I saw him Thursday was a special moment for sure!!! In 78 shows this topped the charts. Great friends on the island and JB in rare form... even in he did play BEG
. I'm still a happy girl

The lure of playing the new album in its entirety was no draw to Hawaii for me personally. However, I might have endured had this happened a few weeks earlier.
