Believe it or not the "tent on the beach" is not an uncommon site here or sometimes right on the sidewalk...you'll see what I mean when you get here!

Re: Who's Going to Hawaii December 14?
Looks like 4th row is the place to be. We are in 4th Row D Seats 2 & 3.
Just checked and it looks like Jake Shimabukuro has nothing scheduled after 11/24 so maybe he will be making an appearance. Henry Kapono's site only shows dates up to 10/27 so not sure if he will be in town for the show or not.
I have decided not to tell my wife about Hawaii until December 4, if she doesn't kill me first. We usually go to Hawaii in October and stop in Vegas on the way back to see Jimmy, but this year I am dragging her to a convention in New Orleans instead. We are still going to Vegas to see Jimmy, so I still get my part of the trip, which doesn't help. She is a trooper, but she is not thrilled about missing Hawaii. I kept playing Dukes on Sunday this morning so I am not really helping the situation, but it's kinda fun.

Why are you telling her on the 4th instead of just making it a complete surprise?

Re: Who's Going to Hawaii December 14?
We have been married for 20 years, and I know I wouldn't be completely forgiven if I didn't give her a little time for shopping. Plus, I get to see the excitement in her eyes for a few more days this way. I still have to work out how I am going to break it to her, but I have a few ideas.lime rickie wrote:Dastardly...but somehow I think she'll find a way to forgive you and get over it.bbqmonster wrote:Looks like 4th row is the place to be. Re: Who's Going to Hawaii December 14?
Aloha,
Plans are finally coming together for the Pau Hana Parrot Heads " Five O'Clock on the Beach" Pre concert Event. Will be located this year at Tiki's Bar and Grill, 2570 Kalakaua Ave in the Waikiki Aston Beach Hotel from 1-6 pm.
Live entertainment this year will be Trop Rock musician Jim Morris out of Punta Gorda Fl. We've held this same event in the past with spectacular turnouts at the Elk's Club, unfortunately it was already booked this year. Tiki's is one of the premiere live music venues in the heart of Waikiki, right across the street from the beach and just steps to the "Shell".
More info an a link for tickets will be put up on our website very soon!
The Waikiki Aston Beach owned by Aston gave the the Code GG112808 for booking rooms which offers discount off the lowest available rate online or by phone. 800-336-5599

Re: Who's Going to Hawaii December 14?
“5 O’clock on the Beach” Pre-Concert Tailgate Party
Join us for the “5 O’clock on the Beach” Pre-Concert Tailgate Party on December 14th, just prior to Jimmy Buffett’s show at The Waikiki Shell (the Shell/city of Honolulu doesn’t allow tailgating at the venue prior to any concert). So….the tailgate party, formally called the “Elks Party” is from 1:00-6:00 pm at the hottest place in Waikiki – Tikis Grill and Bar, 2570 Kalakaua Ave. http://www.tikisgrill.com just feet from the venue and right off the ocean. Tikis will have drink specials, pupus, the whole package. We’re bringing in one of Trop Rock’s most popular entertainer’s, Jim Morris outa Florida, with a music style reminiscent of Jimmy Buffett and Jerry Jeff Walker and over 20 CD’s to his credit… check him out at http://www.jim-morris.com
True to our philanthropic mission, our desire to “party with a purpose”, we’ll have a silent auction with some great prizes in order to raise funds for our chosen charity.
Great island views, great live music, tropical breezes, great food, drink specials, and Jimmy Buffett literally just around the corner…… it really can’t be much of a better afternoon!
Special Hotel Rates – We’ve secured special Club rates (great rates) at some beautiful Waikiki hotels; all walking distance from the concert. Aqua Aloha Surf, Queen Kapiolani, Park Shore, and The Aston (home to Tikis).
Tailgate Party – How do I get there?
Event Ticket – $15.00 (gets ya $2.50 drafts – cheapest in town, $3.00 rum and cokes, G&Ts, Sex on the Beach, $5 Mai Tais, Margs, Blue Hawaiis)….plus pupu deals.
(Please, due to processing difficulties, no more online purchases after 8:00pm Friday, Dec 13, 2013.)
Please leave your Address on the Paypal link so we can mail out your tickets. If purchased after Dec 1st we will have them available at will-call table at tiki's on day of event.
Tickets may also be purchased day of event at door for $20.00; everyone is welcome. Pau Hana Club memberships also available at the party but not required to attend.
3 hours of validated parking at the Aston Hotel where Tikis is, or park at Kapiolani Park, near the Shell, and walk over.
Tikis is on the beach, 2d floor Aston Hotel, above Wolfgang Pucks’ (on Kalakaua Ave), about a block Ewa the Shell.

Re: Who's Going to Hawaii December 14?
Just checked Heavens-Above.com and it looks like the Southern Cross will be visible in the South just above the horizon around 5:30AM on concert day 12/14. I think it will be kinda cool to see it in the morning and hear it that night. Now I just have to remember to set the alarm. It's still 7 weeks away but I am starting to get excited.
Does anyone know the rules on Cameras at The Shell? I thought I saw something about nothing with a removable lens, but the Code of Conduct page for The Shell is blank.
