Henry Kapono's site only shows dates up to 10/27 so not sure if he will be in town for the show or not.
Jake is playing at Mauna Lani on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island on December 7th... argh, we arrive on the 8th! :-?
I'm willing to bet that both Jake and Henry will be there with Jimmy!

Henry's page now shows him at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on 12/14, but that is only during Happy Hour from 4:00 - 6:00PM so he could still easily make the show. We are staying there so we will probably stop in for a cocktail and a few pupus before heading down to Dukes and Tiki's.

My wife still does not have a clue about any of this, she still thinks we are going to Vegas that weekend. When we were in Vegas for the 10/26 show she kept telling our friends at Caesars that we would be back in December then when she would go to the bathroom I would let them know what was going on. If everything goes as planned she won't find out till 12/4. I have ordered a photo book from from Costcophoto to break the news to her. The first 10 pages are the Top Ten Reasons we are not going to Vegas. Reasons 10 - 4 will make her think we are going to Florida so she will really be surprised when she hits #1. In case you are wondering Jimmy shows up in reason #2- I have always wanted to see Jimmy at The Shell. The rest of the book is full of pictures from our previous Hawaii trips to get her excited.
Can't wait to break the news to her.

Aloha,

Looking forward to meeting everyone in December, we've been working hard on putting together a great Pre Concert Party at Tiki's. Below is a copy of our Press Release going out to local papers this week. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about travel to Hawaii or our upcoming event. Mahalo

The Pau Hana Parrot Heads will be holding their “5 O'Clock on the Beach" Preconcert Tailgate Event again this year before the Jimmy Buffett Show on December 14th. The event is the fifth of its kind and the largest “Parrot Head” gathering in the Islands. As in past years it’s not only an opportunity for Buffett Fan’s to gather, but also live by their motto of “Party with a Purpose” and benefit local organizations in need. In past years a significant amount of money has been raised for organizations such as Wounded Warriors, Aloha Assisted Living and USO Hawaii and this year will benefit Fisher House Hawaii.

Parrot Heads in Paradise, Inc. is a National Not-For-Profit Corporation, whose purpose is to assist in community and environmental concerns and provide a variety of social activities for people who are interested in the music of Jimmy Buffett and the tropical lifestyle he personifies. The organization engages in activities that are charitable, educational and promote the general welfare of the community. Currently, the organization stands at 240 chapters in the United States, Canada and Australia … 3 different countries, 48 states, 3 Canadian provinces and one U.S. Territory. Total membership remains steady with more than 28,000 dedicated, fun-loving Parrot Heads amongst the ranks. In 2012, Parrot Head Clubs collectively raised for and/or donated to charitable organizations approximately $ 3.5 million. Perhaps more importantly, Parrot Heads carried on the tradition of volunteerism as 2012 saw chapters worldwide donate more than 193,000 man-hours to philanthropic and environmental activities. This past year, Parrot Heads collectively spent the equivalent of 7500+ 24 hour days on charitable, social and environmental activities … and they had a BLAST while doing it!!

Locally the Pau Hana Parrot Heads have coordinated various beach and reef clean ups, water stations at charity runs, and donations to the USO, Hawaii Food Bank and Aloha United Way. Other club activities include frequent social gatherings at local restaurants, yacht clubs and beaches that often include live music and barbeques, as well as sailing trips and weekend raft-ups.
The Fisher House Foundation is best known for its network of comfort homes built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers nationwide and in Europe. Fisher Houses are beautiful homes, donated to the military and Department of Veterans Affairs. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time - during the hospitalization for a combat injury, illness or disease. Fisher House Foundation ensures that there is no fee to stay in a Fisher House. Since 1990, the foundation has saved military, veterans and their families an estimated $200 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation All fundraising proceeds from the Parrot Head event will be donated to assist Fisher House with their various needs.
The event will feature live music with special guest, Trop Rock musician Jim Morris coming all the way from Punta Gorda Florida. Jim Morris is an articulate singer/songwriter with a devotion to storytelling. Although Jim’s musical style is admittedly reminiscent of Jimmy Buffett and Jerry Jeff Walker, he has a knack for defying categorization. He mixes a whimsical island sound with a splash of Texas to produce a sound that is uniquely Gulf and Western. The listener can always count on well-crafted songs with carefully drawn characters, clever lyrics, and satirical charm. Jim grew up in Georgia and has a heritage rich in music. His grandfather led a dance band, and everyone in the family either played an instrument or sang. After college he pursued a career in human resources management but continued to write songs and dream of the day when he could do it full-time. In 1996 he quite the corporate world, cut his first CD "Laid Back and Key Wasted" and has never returned. He currently has 24 CD's to his credit, tours the entire Nation from coast to coast and is one of the most popular Trop Rock entertainers in the entire Country.

The" 5 O'clock on the Beach" event will be held from 1-6pm at Tiki’s Grill and Bar in the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel 2570 Kalakaua Ave, one of Waikiki’s premier live music venues right around the corner from the Waikiki Shell where Jimmy Buffett will perform. Event will feature door prizes, Raffle and Silent Auction Items and some of the best drink specials in Waikiki with $2.50 draft beers, $3 Gin & Tonic, Sex on the Beach, Rum & Cola, $5 Margarita (rocks), Mai Tai, Blue Hawaiis . Tickets are $15 in advance $20 at the door and can be purchased at www.pauhanaparrotheads.org or at www.Eventbrite.com.

Aloha Kate,

The best tour is the Honolulu City Lights Tour with leaves multiple times every night from Ward Center, which is a short cab ride from Waikiki. Tour will take you through downown Honolulu and by the City Hall, which is where the majority of the lights are. If you get a chance also go through the City Hall...lot's of lights and Christmas activities going on there!

If you want to see more of Jim Morris...keep Friday night free, we're looking at putting together a House Concert with a shuttle from Waikiki if enough folks are interested.

Wish we were going this year. Unfortunately December is the busiest month of the year for our artist co-op and I missed working most of last December because I was very ill. Couldn't do that to my co-workers again.

hopefully he will plan another visit to the shell in a different month. :D

I'd love to know myself. Since the concert is roughly a month away it seems like there would be some news about a place where fans could go online to vote. From what I've read from fellow fans it also appears that Songs From St. Somewhere is going to be performed in it's entirety that evening which is seriously going to cut into the all request portion of the show. Then again, I haven't read anything about that on Margaritaville.com either.

4 weeks away and still no solid rumors on this set list thing...which leads me to wonder if we are going to get the regular St. Somewhere line up with a couple special HI songs...Honestly I'm just psyched to be getting to HI for the first time, but icing on the cake would be a request set.

I would love to hear a Hawaiian version of "Christmas in the Caribbean". It would be pretty easy to change it to "Christmas time in Honolulu" or "Christmas here in Waikiki". The line "We don't live in a hurry" would be "We all live on an island". The rest of the song could pretty much stay the same. It is December so it is kind of a Christmas show after all.

My wife is going to find out about the trip tonight. I was planning on waiting til December 4th, but we had to put one of our animals to sleep on Monday and she could really use the pick me up.

If he does a Christmas song I think it would make more sense to do Mele Kalikimaka, then he wouldn't have to change anything to make it fit.

If anyone needs a couple of extra tickets, please let me know. We have a couple in our club section that have become available. One of our Aussie members who was going to come up for the Show, has just been hospitalized with Live Failure, so they've had to cancel their trip! Just hoping to help them out and selling at face value of $136 each...located in section DD1 Row 15. So if you know of anyone who has been considering making a trip out here for the Show, we have some great seat for them. Mahalo

This is Mrs. BBQ Monster here...have a question about the gathering at Tiki's before the concert maybe someone here could answer. It is regarding the food offered there. Wondering if we will be able to order a salad or sandwich off the dining menu in the Lanai area? Last time we were there, we got 2 different stories: one waitress wanted to let us order a salad in the Lanai area, but then we were told we had to go into the dining area for this. Then, on the way out, we noticed people eating off the other menu in the Lanai area. Hopefully it will different this time, as we love the Lanai.

Can't wait for the concert and trip to Honolulu!!!!
