Exactly!! I watched an old VHS tape someone made of the 1999 Today Show just to see Jimmy perform Pacing the Cage. (I made my list of 27+ songs of just songs Jimmy wrote though.)

HAHAHAHAHAAA!!!! This is great. You nailed it with this one. With as many great songs as Jimmy has, he's also released some real duds and done some stupid covers. I think you've got most of them listed here. Nice job. Of course I do disagree on a few of these. They do a good cover of "Scarlet Begonias," but it's definitely overplayed and I'd prefer to hear "Uncle John's Band" if they're going to do a Dead cover. And I don't mind "Knee Deep" or "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere". Both fun songs. And "A Lot to Drink About" was pretty cool when he first did it. Now it's sounding dated. I remember seeing him at Madison Square Garden one year and he played "Math Suks" and I was like WTF? Definitely a dumb song. Anyway, thanks for posting this list. Very well done!

I heard about this contest but worry (as people have said here already) that if the "fans" choose this setlist it's going to be filled with all the songs he plays all the time anyway. I think for the contest to actually mean something they should eliminate all the setlist "standards" that he plays at every show from the voting. Then we can be assured of a true "deep cuts" concert, which is something I'd like to see Buffett do more of.

While not a top 10 favorite or anything, I've never minded "Fool Button" all that much but the more I think about it, it's very possible that it could be considered the 1978 version of "Too Drunk To Karaoke". The themes aren't identical but the gist of both songs is pretty similar.

Nautical Wheelers IS one of my favorites (as is about 90% of his songs). I did hear it live once, but don't remember where.
I've NEVER heard Somewhere Over China, and, since I spent A LOT of time in the Orient, I seem to be able to identify with some of that song. Plus it's a damn GOOD song.
I'm actually thinking of a regular dream set list of my own to post, but I wanted to make my feelings of THAT song known.
