This is called Black Opossum. From a local craft brewery called Roundabout. It's very good. A dark beer with plenty of chocolate and coffee flavors without harsh roast and bitterness qualities. Polish Marynka hops provide a touch of wood character at the end.

I've been negligent here....some new ones I have tried:
A bourbon barrel Barleywine:

A blueberry infused amber ale:

I've had this before, but it's always worth mentioning:

Hey Cap'n! Not every brewery in Wisconsin is in Milwaukee or central Wisconsin (WI Rapids or New Glarus). Stop over on the west side of the state sometime and check out some of the Pearl Street Brewery's offerings. I'm developing a fondness for their Rubber Mills Pils (the brewery is located in the building that formerly housed the La Crosse Footwear Company a/k/a "the Rubber Mills") and their Downtown Brown ale.
Some of their products can also be found in Madison and elsewhere in the state, but for the best experience (and a chance to maybe try some limited-run seasonal and specialty brews like their coffee-infused Java Lava) why not come to the brewery itself — they have a tasting room — and get it fresh from the source?

I'm quite familiar with them. Like the DTB. I love tours, so if I'm ever in that neck, I'll be sure to stop...Bicycle Bill wrote:Hey Cap'n! Purchased a case of Smuttynose Robust Porter about two weeks ago. First of their beers that I've had, it's very good:
