I don't want to get into any long discussion on this subject (and this is not a criticism), but I am just curious as to when Jimmy reduced the length of the show by somewhere between 20 minutes to a half hour.

I've pulled the setlist data for my 16 shows since 1999 for another thread and looked at it all. He's typically been doing 25-26 shows this year. For me, he's averaged 27.4 songs per show. I have had five 26-song shows, five 27-song shows, two 28, two 29 and two 30. So, this year was a little below average for me, but not outside of my previous experiences.

Jimmy has eliminated the 20+ minute set break in the show which used to break the show into parts. This is what has shortened the shows running time, however the number of songs has not varied much usually between 26 to 29 per show. The two Texas shows this year were shorter in the number songs because it was unseasonably cold both of those nights, the infamous Chicago show was only 24 songs due to venue restrictions and the Detroit show was shorter due there being two opening acts Mishka and Jackson Brown

Browne will be opening the Alpine show this weekend, so we may have another shortened show.
