I once got fired from a job because there was a RUMOR that I was bangin' one of the girls.

Wasn't true. Sucks...it was a good job and she was hot. If I was to be punished, it would have been nice to have done the crime!

Many moons ago before we were married Mr.Lime and I pretended we didn't know each other at a job, corporate-owned restaurant. I was an assistant manager and then he was hired as a bartender in one of the lounges. Silly little Snooki-type waitress was all breathless over the hot new bartender.

Funny thing on my end, once the rumor had done it's damage, we became friends and hung out a lot.

We were already living together at that point. Only one guy knew, a waiter who we were friends with for years before that. I understand why the rule is there, in fact the rule makes more sense to me in the hospitality environment than the office/cubicle environment. But we did have fun with it for a while.

I once got lectured about having friendship outside of work by a Manager who was married to one of his former employees.

As for the girl I got fired over....the irony was that I was replaced by a guy who actually had slept with her!!!!!!!!!! She had told me about it. But I was fired over a rumor...

The hypocrisy is mind-numbing...the owner of the corporate chain had at least a couple of mistresses.

Happens everywhere. I just blew me away that I was the one who got fired for it. And I was innocent of the crime.
