Yes, indeed it does. This should be an interesting year with the realignment and all. Old rivalries coming back. My Capitals may do great or they may s***. I have no idea. And enjoy Matt Hendricks. I was sad to see him go (but he wasn't going to get that kind of money from us).

It's a great day for hockey...

To say that I'm quite enthused the Winged Wheels are in the East is an understatement. Now I hope they don't let me down!

Last year was just the WORST. :( Literally. ;) Hoping for better things this season. New coach- Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic- the new executive director of hockey operations.

If that's how he acts after a win, it's going to be an interesting season.

“I was not very happy, first of all, seeing their defenseman (Lovejoy) kneeing our guy (MacKinnon). That was a knee-to-knee hit and it should have been a penalty in my opinion,” Roy said after the game, according to The Denver Post.

THAT is why he was so PO'd. It was a cheap shot.

Agreed it was uncalled for. However if he's gonna attempt to bust down the partition between the benches every time there is a perceived cheap shot you're gonna need to install a steel partition anchored into cement.

If it was my guy I'd be PO'd too. He just shouldn't take it out on the partition. Get a hockey stick. Like this coach:

So, my Predators got off to a rough start last night. They'll be back. They'll be fine.

Yeah. How did Jones look?

I love me some hockey. I can't wait to get off the IR and get back out on the ice.

Well, as a 19-year-old, he didn't look overmatched. But he does look like a rookie.
Got off 3 SOG, had a +2 rating. Not bad for a baby.

Sorta sux they are moving , i just don't picture hockey in Brooklyn. Should of stayed on the Island , But cheap ownership did that in. I could even except a arena near Citi Field , but Brooklyn , i don't see to much of there fan base traveling there.

Wayne, from what I remember before I moved from NY they're still going to be called the Islanders. I don't know if they'll be the NY Islanders or if they're changing the name of the team to the Brooklyn Islanders.

Tom, the Nassau Coliseum is one of the oldest arenas in the NHL. I'm not sure, but I think Madison Square Garden might be the only arena that's older than the Coliseum. The Islanders' ownership had been trying to get approval to build a new arena in Nassau County for years and the county government won't let them. The Coliseum is a f'n dump, it's 40 years old, it doesn't have a lot of luxury boxes and the capacity is only about 15,000. The Barclays Center is brand new, it might not have much more capacity than the Coliseum but it has a lot of luxury boxes. That's where the money is now so that's why they're moving.

thanks Larry

Tom. I have NHL center ice, I heard several times last year and the year before that the owner offered between 500 and 750 Million to help fund a new building on Long Island. IMHO that makes him far from Cheap
