That's not the entire story on seating though. You have to make sure you are there EARLY because the beach chairs etc are first come first served. I know last year they ran out for a while. Plus the longer you wait the less options you have of WHERE you sit. But if you get there early and stake out your piece of sand you should be fine.

And our group went for the loungers on the beach.....which was awesome! It's standing only in front of the stage. But from the beach, you have a clear view and can hear perfectly. The cabana boys brought cool damp towels, cleaned our sunglasses and after I handed them mutiple handfuls of drunken gummy bears, offered to rub my feet.
One warning though......don't throw your hotel towels on beach chairs, then don't show up for 5 hours and expect to have said chairs reserved for you. Ain't gonna happen.

Three nights in the middle Keys (anyone know the Conch Key Cottages?) then 13 nights on The Rock, Oct 28 to Nov 10.
Learned to love the quiet days between MOTM and the boat races last year.

So happy Irene is going to be able to join us this year.

Only 132 more days until Ms Sammie and I are Key West bound. While I am very much looking forward to MOTM, I do not want this summer to go by too fast as we had such a horrible winter here in Michigan. I want to enjoy the warm weather.

Anyone who went last year happen to know the name of the band that played evenings at Sloppy Joe's? They were a 3 piece & all were on the "portly" side shall we say! For some reason I was thinking they were from the Northeast.

Just booked me a room and registered. WooHoo!

Can't remember their name but was surprised at how good they were! Enjoyed them also.

Looking more & more like a 2nd trip to Key West for this event is happening. Next decision will be do I pony up for the Casa events?

Congrats! Could be the largest "Retirement Party" in recorded history G.
Tomorrow I should be closing the deal on a condo rental down there for that week. Will be coming down with a friend this time so we will be getting our heads together on air travel plans next week. Will look forward to seeing you there!

Only if you want to see the people who are playing on Saturday like Mac and Peter etc. It's set up now so that they do NOT play out anywhere else during the event. In years past you could always see them on their own at another venue.
