I liked Songs From St. Somewhere way more than I was expecting to but compared to stellar releases this year from the likes of Jason Isbell, Guy Clark, Mount Moriah, Valerie June, Steve Earle, etc. it simply doesn't measure up. As for being unfamiliar with so many that made the list, I don't know them all either but I'm familiar with the vast majority of them. Unfortunately, it's been my experience with Buffett fans (at least on the internet) that outside of a few notable exceptions, very few seem to be familiar with music outside of the mainstream. Just an observation I've made over the years.jayparrot46 wrote:nojimmy on the List oh well and half i've never heard

I've been hearing a lot about John Moreland but still haven't checked him out. One of my favorite albums of the year (though I somehow managed to leave it off of my still developing best of list) is the self-titled debut from Roseland. They have been backing Caleb Caudle on some of his recent tour dates. Caleb has also done a few with Moreland. Roseland are currently out on the road supporting a band called The Ends. If you wanna check out their record, click on the image below.pupnpony wrote:wow - thanks for the list -- love a lot of those - still haven't heard of some -

I've heard of a lot, but not all, of them but the only ones I have are Ashley Monroe and Kacey Musgraves. That's right, the NY guy has 2 country albums.
There are some I'd like to check out - Guy Clark, Emmylou and Rodney, Mark Knopfler, and I've heard good things about McCartney's album but I haven't heard any of the songs on it yet.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here
