I think XM has been well aware of those alternative methods for as long as they've existed, nothing to do with talk here.

I had an interesting experience last night with a fellow parrothead having RM feed issues, after checking all of the Pop Up and firewall possibilities and still not getting anything I decided to delete the cookies for RM and then revisit RM's online feeds and BINGO they both worked. I also deleted the cookies for TuneIn and that stream now works for my friend as well2muchcoffeeman wrote:It's a roll of the dice.
I'm pretty sure that when the people at Limelight changed the server configuration and eliminated the old Windows Media Player feed last fall, they somehow didn't leave enough server capacity to handle all the potential RM listeners. It's the only explanation that matches up with lots of people complaining that they can't get the feed paired with the occasional "WOOHOO I got the feed!" person. If you get on right at that moment when there's excess server overhead available, you're golden. If you can't get ahead of that wave, you're stuck back in the lineup watching other people have fun. I got it to work briefly last night, for the first time in ages. It's not working for me today — not in iTunes, or the website, or the TuneIn app.
I'm going to end up starting an online SiriusXM subscription just to get around Limelight.
I don't know what to say as I have no connection problem via either the html 5 or flash feed or tune in for that matter. The only issue I had was the WMP feed did not like either WMP 11 or 12 so I used the flash stream exclusively. I have Comcast High Speed internet so I know I have more then enough internet speed for the connection. I do have AdBlock on my browser and have it bypassed for RM so there is no issue there, I have also made sure my firewalls were not blocking RM.2muchcoffeeman wrote:Not it.
