I may have a source that may know , a my friend Pam , who some of you met, her nephew is on the Red Sox grounds crew. He may know something.

I vote for loser trolls
No, it's someone in Mansfield in a position to know. But we all know even GOOD rumors that come from a good source sometimes fall apart
Pam covered it perfectly

My ticket was $84 + whatever the TM fees were and I was in the grandstand, not on the field. For a comparison, the Jones Beach show was the week before and my ticket for that was $75 + fees. My seat was in section 12R, which I think is in the $90-100 range now.

2004 Fenway was one of the best days of my life. 2004 was the pinnacle of my extreme Parrot Head lifestyle and my love for the Red Sox. I have never loved a sport's team more than the 2004 Red Sox. After the 2003 ALCS when Aaron Boone crushed Red Sox nation in game 7 and the following off season when NYY signed ARod and the Sox obtained Curt Schilling and Keith Foulke I was beyond psyched for 2004 baseball. Then the announcement came that Jimmy was playing Fenway. Every endorphin in my brain was released. Because of friend's in really low places I got a front row seat for the Friday show. Jimmy did a skit where he broke the course of the bambino and he handed me his sandal before his encore which I have framed. It was an amazing experience and the fact the Red Sox came back from 3 games down to beat NYY in the ALCS and then go on to sweep the Cardinals for the World Series made it legendary. Perfect. Life was perfect. Almost 10 years later and I am still a die hard Parrot Head and Red Sox fan but no where near as extreme as 2004. There is no way that this year will compare to 2004 if Jimmy does go back. Not that it has to or anything but my vote is for GW. If it is Fenway then, at best, I will play it by ear.

Let's start a happy rumor instead. I know, rumor has it that Bubba will be playing a private party at the Red Roof Inn the night before the concert ...

I went to one of the state parks we have here and wore a windbreaker, like I always do. Yesterday when I was at the beach the temperature was in the mid 50s but it was very windy. Today the wind died down but it was only 41 degrees. One of the pigeons even thought it was cold.

The windbreaker didn't cut it so I left the beach and went to another, non-waterfront, park a couple of miles away. There was a hot blonde alert.

When I got back I saw one of my neighbors, he just got back from visiting relatives in Maryland. He said it snowed when he was there.

Buffett at Fenway in 2014 is laughable.. He didn't sell-out Great Woods in 2013 until the day of the show and it's debatable if the show was even sold out. GW is 19,900 tickets, Fenway for a concert is around 35K. With no tailgating and ticket prices starting north of $100 there is very little chance he come close to selling out Fenway so why even bother. The sad reality is these days people to go Buffett shows for the tailgating not for his music. Fenway is a terrible place for a concert as most of us learned in 2004.

Totally on dawgs accurate, my friend. What I will never understand is that Jimmy sold 130,000 tickets at Gillette Stadium for two shows and then could barely sell 40,000 in 2008 and 2009 at the two Great Woods shows those years, barely sold 30,000 combined for the two Great Woods shows in 2010, and then went down to one show at Great Woods in 2011 which is struggles to sell out. Seems like a massive decline in sales for no apparent reason. Tickets prices remained relatively consistent in cost over that span of time. I digress. I still think Jimmy puts on a decent show. He hasn't totally jumped the shark (see what I did there?) yet. But, yes, the draw is the tailgate for most people without question. I'm glad he is still doing it but Jimmy, being the smart guy that he is, must realize that people want a tailgate . . . and Great Woods is legendary for it. Since it's money on the pile anyways, Jimmy, just give us what we want. Or play Wellfleet. On the beach. By the Comber. Up to you.

Is it possible Buffett thinks by having the show at Fenway he'll get sales to the Fenway season ticket/Corporate folks who he may normally NOT get just because it's a Fenway event? As you say...the numbers don't add up but there has to be some kind of method to the madness.

So apparently this is NOT a done deal yet. Fenway is hoping to steal some big acts. I suggest we go to any site where we think JB's management will see it Margarillas FB and other FB sites. Tell them we won't be phlocking to Fenway and will spend our $$ elsewhere. We all know Jimmy doesn't really give a crap but maybe if management thinks they'll lose money they'll think twice.
