JB at Fenway for the Labor Day Weekend show?
I think it was Labor Day in 2004 wasn't it? That's when I usually went to Nantucket and that's where I was in 2004. I don't know why I"m saying this but that might make a difference. And it's closing weekend at the Beachcomber as well
It wouldn't for me. There is no good reason to see JB in Fenway.
if it was his last show ever????
even if it was his last show ever.
I have to think (hope) his last show ever would be somewhere better than Fenway.
it was a question toward Pam's comment!!...hypothetical!!!!

Re: Great Woods ?/??/2014?
I'll start by saying that I have his 3 disk live CD from Fenway which I really enjoy listening although I haven't
seen him there. Based on comments made here, I don't think I would make the trip if he went there instead of GW.
GW is a long (although very well worth it!!) trip where I have met so many of you wonderful people and I'm just not
feeling the love for Fenway. I thought Nissan (my hometown venue) was a kick a** tailgate/party but then I went to GW
and, well, what more can you say?
I will still hold out hope until the very end that we can do it all again at GW this year and for MANY more years to come!!

Wow. I'm shocked. I actually booked my hotel room for that weekend at the Red Roof Inn the day I got home last year from the Buffett show. If it's Fenway then that same weekend is a possibility for him. The Red Sox play the Wednesday of that week at home then head out for a long road trip so plenty of time to get the park ready for Saturday. I just don't think he will bring in a big crowd and the place will be half full unless the ticket prices are low. It will be a sad sight to see him playing in front of empty seats.
I'd be on the fence about going to see him at Fenway Park again it's like my personal Sophie's choice. In 04 it was nice because it was new but Fenway sucks as a concert venue and to hang out at the bars near Fenway all day in 2004 it was very expensive. I go to a great deal of Sox games and the bars near Fenway are quite pricey these days. I've seen every Buffett show in Mass at GW, Fenway, Gillette, Garden since 1993.
I'd probably consider traveling again to see him someplace else.

Re: Great Woods ?/??/2014?
When I see my last JB show I don't want to know it's the last one. I don't want a farewell tour. I want to find out that LAST year's tour (whenever that is) was the last one. It would be way too sad to know I was watching JB and the CRB for the last time.
All that said, I'll probably go if it's a Fenway show. I'd MUCH rather go to GW, a thousand times much rather, for a hundred reasons. But if JB and the band comes to New England don't want to miss them. It could be my last show, or their last show, God forbid....

What if it's Fenway or nothing, not Fenway or GW.....? Personally, I'd take Fenway in that case...

I might, it's on the list of possibilities. But I'm also trying to score a getaway to somewhere cheap and toasty. Cheap and toasty > Lunkhead fix.The Five O'clock Parrott wrote:Maybe one or two.......PA Parrot wrote:

Re: Great Woods ?/??/2014?
Worst case scenario, aside from not playing a New England show at all, would be a Tuesday or a Thursday show. That would blow. I would take a weekend Fenway show over a weekday Great Woods show, personally. My schedule fits anything. But weekday Buffett tailgates just aren't the same as the once were.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Last time he had a Thursday show they were practically giving the tickets away.

I found this link from this past September. Not sure if it has any meaning at all to this rumor but it's worth a view.

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - beer in hand - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"
