It makes sense except that Canada kept sending the puck to the US end but didn't attack the open goal.
I guess they were in defending mode and didn't want to risk going forward being "a man down".

So much for sending the pros; I'll bet after Friday's loss to Canada some of these guys were already thinking more about getting back to their NHL teams and their chances at the Stanley Cup instead of trying to salvage what they could from Sochi. Let me have the college and amateur players again. At least they'll come in hungry and stay focused.
