Every year this is one or my favorite days and this year was no exception. Hopefully we'll be doing this again next year.
Also I believe that he'll be touring again next year. This is a man that will put his name on anything to make a buck, which I'm fine with because it's his right and it's not like were forced to buy anything. With that said I could buy tickets for most of his shows off ticketmaster today. He is not selling out everyday. However, he could sell a lot more seats if this was his final tour. So, I personally don't believe that he wouldn't try to cash in on a last tour.

Both shows were probably some of the best I've seen in at least 10 years or more. It was interesting seeing such a new venue at Bethel Woods and then comparing it to Great Woods. The party is the best around but in my humble opinion the venue is in serious need of a updating.
We were all talking about that after the show and there was something very "final" about how he ended the show. The comments he made about greatwoods and all the years also sounded like, "was" a good run not it "is" a good run.
He also talked a lot about the new Woodstock location and showed lots of pics from that show and tailgate, that was odd.
My first guess is he stops playing Mansfield and switches to Bethel NY.
My second guess is he takes a year off.
My third guess is he doesn't do full tours anymore and does occational shows here or there.
I really believe he was telling us something and Greatwoods every summer as we know it is changing.

Sorry we missed you all. Sounds like a great time. We got there shortly before 11 and were really happy with our spot. Also happy that it didn't take forever to get out of the lot like it seemed to in previous years. I knew it was going to be a great party when we pulled up and heard the security guy on his walkie talkie say, "we have 75 cars that want to park together, where should be put them".

Just getting to checking in here. I can second all the comments. It was an incredible show and seeing 2 friends who hadn't been able to make it in a few years made it even better. I'll miss my further flung PH friends, it was so great to hang out with you again!
I tend to agree with Mitch, but whatever that finale meant it was a great end to the show. That the medley of songs prior to "Lovely Cruise" rocked the house! Ending it with "Dirty Water" was genius!

So much to say but I'll keep it short and sweet!!! It was a great day from the weather,to the food, the water, the freezepops & the fireball, to old friends, old friends that I finally got to meet, new friends, & new wives, to the show itself & the virgins who were our seat-mates (best ever). It was fantastic!!! Disappointed that I still didn't get to meet a few people, but hopefully there's next year!
That said, I agree with Mitch for the most part. I've been thinking that this year is the last year for full-blown concerts. I mentioned a few of my ideas to Sharon, and pointed out a few things to her during the show, she believes I'm over thinking it. Yes, I know he said not yet x2, and he has ended other shows with Lovely Cruise, and there are times he personalizes each city's concert, but I believe there's a big change about to happen, he finally played Woodstock! I hope Mitch, Pam and I are wrong.

He wouldn't stop playing the Boston Market , to big a market for him , and probably the biggest contingent of PH's. His last tour will be Stadiums ( my opinion)....he can do less shows, and still get what playing 3 nights in attendance would generate.
He can't retire , he has new hotels / casino's and restaurants going up , he still has to attract the younger generation who will keep those places going , when we can't , out of site out of mind would be a marketing disaster.

I agree, Tommy. Boston area anything is central to all of New England. Travel access, highways, airports, hotel and campground access, can't be beat. Although I do hope you are wrong about stadiums. He needs to think smaller. Baseball and football stadiums are just too big and open - and not sound friendly for JB & CRB music.

I hope I'm wrong to , but Stadium's would A. shorten the amount of nights and travel he would do , B. Maximize the attendance without having to do 3/4 shows , he's more rested. C. Most of your big names usually go out with Big Stadium Tours.
Has I said , I don't see it , with new Hotels , and other brands he is tying himself to , he would have to rely on a small group of PH's to financially keep it all alive and profitable. I guess he could play the Hotels once in a while , then he becomes Celine or Wayne Newton. And that gets old. One day he will retire , but I don't see it yet, not with all his investments he has going on, and relying on a core group of PH's to move these along, he can't retire yet. The younger generation isn't want will drive his business. Prime example , for the people who go to MOTM. what is the percentage of young people there supporting it??

Chris(Tig) - phabulous job with the RR, the pool party was the perfect way for everyone to dive into the weekend.

And the ride in was perfect, our group was situated all together in a perfect corner location.
Dave (Moose), always a treat, you are *the* best chef in the lot and Barb is the hostess with the mostess.

Bill painted more bodies than Michaelangelo. Jimmy Groovy was a hoot. So great to be back with the GW crew. Welcomed some newbs and will be hoping some of our AWOL pholks make it back next year.
The show was fun, some song choices I didn't care for but overall Jimmy and the band were very up and very high energy. The crowd was on its feet, singing and dancing along all the way. Mac was mesmerizing on Little Martha. Free/Into the Mystic was sublime.
Not sure what to make of the whole exit 'meaning'. We did have the Reefers doing the one-by-one exit but Jimmy did say a few time throughout the show that he's not done yet. Maybe he's just trying something different? Maybe he's considering moving away from full blown big shows with the CRB to something smaller? Who knows, but I am staying tuned to see what he will deliver.
Beautiful weather, wonderful friends, awesome weekend.
Thanks y'all!
I will never criticize Tig's driving ability again!!!!!....well even a blind squirrel finds a nut..lol!!!... seriously though ,
great job getting a prime spot though!!!
I sorta liked them all coming back out and taking the bow , maybe it's Jimmy's way to show appreciation to the GREAT CRB!!!...but thought it was pretty cool....the exit thing was different , each musician drifting into the night and Jimmy finishing solo!!
NICE SAVE!!!!!

This is one of those posts that I wish I could tag people, but I can't. I was raised by a librarian, so my thanks come in 3 parts...the beginning, middle and end.
Friday-I heard by many that they were relieved J wasn't coming, and so was I. I was nervous about bringing Nick, but you guys...as always didn't disappoint me. Thank all of you for making him feel at home. He felt the love and had an awesome time. The pool party WAS a gathering to reconnect with family members. It turned into something more. The music was legendary, thank you to the NH club for making all of it happen. Seeing Frinzi "relaxed" almost cracks me up! I was looking forward to this more than the actual show....WAS! And yes, Andrea, I think that really was Nancy's room, she was just "busy."
Saturday-How nice was it to have another day of not having to babysit someone and not worry WTF was going on. Andrea, you are certainly my sister from another mother. Nancy, I am sooooooo glad it worked out for the best!!! I would have certainly been freaking out if I were you. Dave, I am pretty sure I ate more than what I paid for this time. But holy crap....the food was AWESOME!!!! I am also glad you got to sit and enjoy things for a change! Bill, you were an equal work horse, but you get better percs! How refreshing was it to just relax and have fun again with my family. I actually had the honor of passing the duck on to Cinci. Course, Kate was not so accepting but I apparently I did pass the torch to capable hands! And the show....THE SHOW! As luck would have it, I could sway with Mitch again during Pirates. I could sway with my buddy Mitch for Paris. And the ending.....WOW.....F'in WOW....you knew it was something special as it was unfolding. And for you locals, if you want people to notice your boobs or pecs, just wear the "I still call it GW's" shirt. The staff love it as much as many of the concert go'ers. The parking lot leaving stunk, but I was glad I could just sit and chill Libby and Dale, and Jen at the end. That was awesome!
Sunday-I don't really care what the weather is, when I am with family, it is all good! The Combah didn't disappoint. Walking around Ptown during Bear weekend when you have someone who looks like a Bear couldn't have ended badly, but worth the chuckle. And speaking of chuckling. Seriously......OMFG! I love you peeps south of the PA line. I have lot laughed so hard in a long time!!!! I thought it was foggy when I woke up, but come to find out, my glasses were stained with tears. That night was the best night I will never remember!!!!
Thank you Dave and Carol for opening up the house to us on Sunday. Thank you BN for accepting Nick with open arms. Thank you Dave for feeding me!
But most importantly, thank you for trusting me to lead the charge into GW's!!!! The caravan wasn't as big as it usually is. And I was nervous as a WalMart employee opening the door on Black Friday. I did lead the charge, and yes, I might have left a little early, which is why I was watching my speed, but there were many things that worked in our favor. It was a real honor to do it, knowing I have only been in the group for a little over 5 years.
LMAO....Tommy and Jon, if you are lucky, I might let you be MY wing man! Thanks Tam for training me well!
Love you guys...this weekend was legendary for me!!!!!
