phewwwww -- we were hoping we weren't too far away which could be a potential problem catching up with everyone on Thursday morning to caravan into the park.

3 miles in Long Island traffic could take an hour!!!!! -Remember it is a Thursday so rush hour does exist -not sure what road you have to travel to meet up with everyone -but traffic is a b**** out here

C'mon Larry you know traffic in New York -6 minutes -yeah right

Almost the entire 3.22 miles is on Sunrise Highway. Even at the height of rush hour, that won't take more than 10 minutes.

You just have to make sure you stay in the left lane. Sunrise Highway is 3 lanes in each direction. You'll be going westbound and the Best Western is on the south side of the road, you have to make a u-turn to get to it.

When I lived on LI, I used to bring a cooler full of beer and let everyone else worry about the food. I'm flying up this year, last year I drove, so I'll probably buy beer when I get there and continue to let everyone else worry about the food.

For the past three years we have had no problem whatsoever with traffic getting from hotel to Jones Beach around 9 in the morning. very easy drive.

The hardest part of the ride is getting from the hotel to the Wantagh Parkway to head to the beach. On weekdays there's hardly any southbound traffic on the parkway that time of day.

Since it's a state park, you have to pay to park. There's a toll booth on the southbound Wantagh Parkway - pay the fee, get your ticket and leave it on the dashboard when you get to the lot. I think it's $10, that's what it was last year. When you get to the lot, you park wherever you want to park. They don't direct you to any particular area like just about every other venue. The only thing I don't like is they let people save spots and you'll sometimes see 10-12 spots blocked off. It's the beach, not everybody is coming for the concert. Have some consideration for the beachgoers.

Yes, agree. If we want to be together, we will need to caravan from somewhere. Maybe your hotel or Ringers? B/c right now we are at Marriott and that is further (I think) As long as we drive in at the same time, there should be no problem.

we can probably haul one person from any meet up point into the venue

Picking up Larry's point about the food! What do people normally do?

I just cannot see British Airways letting me travel with all the gear I would need for a tailgate
