25 minutes to get through security. It's a lot more crowded than the last few times I flew somehere.

Hope you don't get hit with delays, it's kind of stormy up here.

Re: Who's Going To Bethel Woods 7/17?
I'm excited to see this venue. I think we're going to arrive probably around 1:30 or so. Hopefully some others will be there and they will open the lots a bit early. Looks like it is going to be rather cool tomorrow and temps in the 50's by concert's end. I'm not used to that! Just finished up 300 jello shots for our Bethel/Great Woods roadtrip. Stop by and have one (or many). We'll have a parrot balloon flying high overhead.
It was too much tequila . . . . or not quite enough.

Hubby and I will be there with Jello shots also.
We'll be driving a blue Jeep Liberty, inflatable shark tied to the roof. Stop by the say "Hi!".
We're planning on getting there around 12:30; it's about an hour north of where I live.
I'm amazed by people complaining on Bethel Woods' FB page about not being able to bring sealed water bottles into the venue.
Guess I'm too used to Jones Beach and not being able to bring anything into that venue.

You might a lengthy wait on your hands as the venue seems to be intent on enforcing the 3pm opening time for the parking lotscaroltz wrote:Hubby and I will be there with Jello shots also. We'll be driving a blue Jeep Liberty, inflatable shark tied to the roof. Stop by the say "Hi!".

Re: Who's Going To Bethel Woods 7/17?
Even if the lots don't open until three, the area around the Woodstock Monument is always open. If enough people start to party there (it's at the main crossroads leading into the north access to the venue) they will be forced to open the lots. If enough people line up at the gates, it will block the road and they will have to open the lots. It's a field for cripes sake, no reason to NOT open the lot.

Re: Who's Going To Bethel Woods 7/17?
With all the people p*** and moaning on the Bethel Woods FB page about not being able to bring in their water and snacks, and how Jimmy is being rude and greedy, I'm really starting to get a bad feeling about this venue.
I was so excited in the time leading up to it, and now I'm just aggravated.

Re: Who's Going To Bethel Woods 7/17?
Word. I like to save money as much as the next person and would rather bring at least my own water bottle in. But let's be real, a JB show begins 8 or 9 pm and lasts, if we're lucky, about two hours. Presumably you've been eating and drinking prior, if not tailgating all day, then certainly dinner or something before the show. Is it really so difficult to go two hours without a snack? Or s*** it up for the night out and buy a $3 water bottle?caroltz wrote:With all the people p*** and moaning on the Bethel Woods FB page about not being able to bring in their water and snacks, and how Jimmy is being rude and greedy, I'm really starting to get a bad feeling about this venue.I was so excited in the time leading up to it, and now I'm just aggravated.

Two old ladies just walked through the lobby of the hotel. They're both wearing Hawaiian shirts, one of them has a walker. I wonder if they're getting ready to party down at the Buffett show?

(We sat for two seconds and then decided we were leaving for the lawn - the PHC seats weren't great anyway - but thanx to a very kind-hearted usher who 'got it', we just moved back to an open section and danced to our hearts content.)
Larry, we saw ya down front from the cheap & cheaper seats, but didn't get a chance to say 'hey'.
GREAT time pre-partying with BNer's beforehand! (And great to see some old friends!) Listened to some awesome live music at a great venue!
Bethel itself is a beautiful venue, with friendly staff. Tailgate was a bit muted, but not horrible. Jimmy was really stoked to be there and the setlist at least had a little wiggle room. Getting out of the venue afterward wasn't too bad for us. I'd go back again.
Thanx everyone for a great day!!

Re: Who's Going To Bethel Woods 7/17?
An absolutely beautiful place. I would definitely go back. Tailgating was pretty chill but I don't think it was because anyone was hassled but rather there were a lot of what I'd call "curious onlookers" who probably haven't seen JB before. Lots were definitely open well before 3 pm. I've seen Jimmy in lots of outdoor venues and I've never seen so many people with rented chairs. It was almost like regular seating there were so many rows of lawn chairs. No matter, I still managed to wiggle my way to a small patch of green at the bottom of the lawn.
It was too much tequila . . . . or not quite enough.

Margaritaville TV posted 'a lot' of videos on Youtube tonite from this show.
This one is Cheeseburger, but you can clearly see Surfpirate at the 0:59 mark and Parrot Head Red at about 2:14. (Hey, I've been drankin', sue me)
