Is there a place to pitch a tent? If so where and what day should I get there, i.e. do I need to get there early friday to get a tent spot?

I would think that you could pitch a tent is the grass lots to the east; and I think anytime Friday would do...but you never know.

In 2011 all the concrete parking lots were sold out on Friday. We got one of the last spot available around 5:00pm that day. In 2013, they didn't sell out all the concrete parking lots but that was the year after the concert had moved to Fair Park in 2012. I expect the crowds to be back at Frisco this year. We are planning on lining up Thursday night around midnight (never too early to start the party) We lined up last year at 4:00 am Friday and we were about a 3/4 of a mile back in the line. Does anyone what time the Frisco police let the line start last year??

I'm not sure when they let the line start last year. But their guidelines this year say "Vehicles will not be allowed to line up outside any parking lot prior to Friday June 20th, Frisco police will be clearing the public road ways until 9AM". However with the grass lots opening on Thursday I'm not sure what they are going to do.

I'm still confused. (first timer to Frisco) Am I going to be able to wake up in my Frisco Hotel room Saturday morning and still be able to drive to the stadium and park? What about Friday? Can I come for the party and go back to my room? Is there parking available for that?

There are two general areas to park, all close to the stadium. One is the venues parking (concrete lots) http://www.fcdallas.com/stadium/parking. If you want to park in one of those lots I would recommend getting there first thing Saturday morning, they are likely to be full by 9am, if not sooner. Two, are the private lots around the stadium, some paved, some grass. The grass lot to the east is huge http://www.friscoparking.com/Buffett.html and you probably can park there anytime on Saturday (just pray it doesn't rain). I'm not sure how fast the other private parking lots fill up.

On Friday you shouldn't have any problems. Only be aware that if you park in the venues parking, you cannot come and go...some of the private lots will let you.

Of course these are only guesses...in the past it seemed to be less crowded on those years when he played in other Texas locations. Since he has concerts in Houston, Austin and Fort Worth it may not be as busy ('as busy' being a relative term ). PM with your phone number if you would like to talk further about this.

Thanks Plano. I believe I found a good spot for Saturday in Frisco Square for $65.00. It's close anyway. My wife had knee replacement recently and walking too much can still be a pain. Should I expect to pay rip off parking prices on Friday as well?

Last year we parked one car and set up our Tiki bar on Friday (to hold it for Saturday). We parked a couple of other cars further away in free parking and walked over to the bar. We did this because we were only going to be there a few hours and then come back on Saturday. So, in answer to your question, no I don't think you will be ripped off on Friday.

It was over in the square by the courthouse...just parking, not for tailgating.

There are NO beer vendors expect in the stadium during the concert. Actually there are no vendors, period;they are not allowed. Expect of course official Margaritaville and Jimmy Buffett t-shirt, but that is all. However, I would expect you could just walk along and get beer and liquor from other tailgaters...it's one big happy family out there and most everyone shares.

I am talking about the stadiums parking...not sure about private lots.

Wow. Glad I asked. I actually thought it was a stupid question. I think Friday I will pack a cooler!

So, I am going through the parking rules and regs (Frisco is really making these up as they go, huh?) and it looks like the Green Lot parking just went from $40 a car to $50 this past week or was it already that high? AND it says "the purchase of extra spots is prohibited" so that means no extra spot for our tent or anything. Grrrrrr.

So...is there a lot where 'most of us' are trying to be? I am seriously considering the grass lots east of the stadium - listed as friscoparking.com. I have at least two cars and two tents in my group (prolly 3 or 4 cars by the time we all disagree on a departure time).

It's not that I am averse to walking around from lot to lot (might even burn a calorie or two), however there is a convenience to having several of us all close and hanging together and watching set ups as we all come and go and walkabout throughout the day.

So? Where does everyone wanna be and who wants me to be close to them?

I'm ready to waste away.

Will see if Texas can handle me again...its been a few years.

"Tammy and I are going to meet up with Mike Epps and Brad Epps Thursday at the campground by the lake, just west of Frisco.

Friday morning we will go claim our spots in the Green Lot west of the Dr. Pepper Pavilion. Should be the same place as last year. Hope everybody liked our food set up last year,, will be real similar this year.
