Got my tickets in the mail today. I noticed there was a surcharge of $12.70 for NJ National Guard Protection. What is that all about?

NJ State Police Checkpoint upon entering Camden.

Trooper: "Sir, do you have any firearms in your vehicle?"
Driver: "No Officer, I do not."
Trooper: "You better get one!"

The Camden crew hired me for my "page #" services. They pay me in cheesesteaks from Philly and bulletproof vests from Camden. :)

The first show I took Sarah to was on a Saturday night in Camden. We then realized it was easier going to Bristow for the show at the lube.

Isn't that the truth. I hired 16 former navy seals to escort my wife and me the year we went :).

The last couple of times I went there the lots were opened around noon.
But you never know what's going to happen in Camden from one year to the next. :pirate:

Hi all, newbie here. Question for you all - I am considering going to the Camden show next week, it would be my first Buffett show ever, and was thinking about bring my 4 1/2 year-old daughter with me. She likes Jimmy's music, but I am just wondering if the shows at this venue are appropriate for a child this age. I have read conflicting reports on this subject in general, and so I wanted to get some input from people who have been to shows at Camden before.

My personal feeling is she is too young, but what is considered appropriate for one parent might not be appropriate for another. The lawn might be ok near the very back but it can still be pretty crazy. Since everyone stands for pretty much the whole show...she probably wouldn't be able to see much if you had pavilion seats. My advice is to let her home.

Maybe I'm totally wrong, but I always felt that once you made it to the parking lot you were probably ok. I wouldn't recommend a stroll around any place else though and God help you if your car breaks down on your way out of the place.
Even in a perfect area my feeling is 4 1/2 is too young for a Buffett show.

Contrary to popular belief, children are allowed to enter the city of Camden. However, there are no guarantees that anyone will be allowed to leave without the assistance of Kurt Russell (circa 1980's). What a great idea for a movie!! Escape from Camden, the movie can start with the vice-president touring the Campbell's Soup factory and then on his way the Vanilla Ice concert at Susquehanna Bank Center, he......

We've brought both our kids to shows starting at that age, the reason we stopped was they were picking up on all the bad behavior we were exhibiting :pirate: The nicest way to bring the kids to the show was parking on the Philly side and taking the ferry over, parking on the Philly side is a lot safer then Camden and the ferry let's you off right near the aquarium, from there it's a few lots over to the venue. The nice thing on the way home some nice folks let us on the ferry first because we had the sleeping kids.

Anyone have any information on the lots for tomorrow? Rumors are that tents will be allowed. Not sure on the lot opening times. What do you know?

Thanks.

I remember when this thread would be 40 or more pages, but Tuesdays are tough.
Instead there are less than two pages and 70% of it are about people crying about Camden. If you stay where you are supposed to be around the venue, aquarium, battleship, Campbell's field, etc, and on the roads to/from you are more than ok. The police presence in the town is very impressive. While I wouldn't bring my 6 1/2 year old to the venue it isn't because of the people of Camden, it is more because who come in to tailgate who go above to act like animals.
