Read where Lifeson basically said they're too pooped to go back out on tour for a 40th anniversary tour, but they'd like to line up plans to go out for #41.
HE'D like to do a bit of a "deep cut" tour from when back when. Stay tuned!

I read that too. I missed them the last time so I hope to catch them on tour next year. Plus, I'd love to hear some of those deep album tracks they don't play too often. "Cygnus X-1" would be right up there for me.Dr.Corona wrote:Read where Lifeson basically said they're too pooped to go back out on tour for a 40th anniversary tour, but they'd like to line up plans to go out for #41.

I would take anything Alex says regarding playing "deep cuts" on tour with a serious grain of salt; he's made these sorts of claims in the past, followed by a set list comprised of familiar stuff - not there's anything wrong that at all, it's all good. Plus, Ged has a hard time hittin' the notes on the older stuff as well, they have tuned stuff down to accommodate. I think 2112 is tuned down as of late, and I'm pretty sure they did the same when they played Circumstances a few years back.Tiki Torches wrote:I read that too. Geddy does have a hard time with those high notes; can't blame him of course. There is so much they could play. While they probably won't do it, I'd love to hear stuff from Caress of Steel, Bastille Day & Lakeside Park. Or some stuff of Signals. It looks like I'm headed to Cleveland in a few weeks, I think the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame needs to be put on the agenda.PeretHed66 wrote:I would take anything Alex says regarding playing "deep cuts" on tour with a serious grain of salt; he's made these sorts of claims in the past, followed by a set list comprised of familiar stuff - not there's anything wrong that at all, it's all good. That's why I capitalized the word he'd. Re: Rush To Reissue 40th Anniversary Edition of 1st Album
Even if they don't deliver on the promise of playing some deep album cuts, I'm long overdue for a live Rush fix as I haven't seen them in concert since the early 90's (Counterparts tour). Best to see 'em while I still can. I have a feeling that when they do retire, it'll be for good.
