Didn't score his flip flops, but Jimmy saw 3 signs, we made jimmy vision a few times, and he worked me and my bestie and our "women to blame" into the first chorus! Success!

Sh*t RTS. Was parked between Columbia & Elizabeth at Cass. Right next door it sounds like.

Didn't realize you were in the gravel lots. Just assumed you were in the paved ones & didn't go that far north.
Wasn't sure what you meant by the billboards. Thought maybe you meant the marque of the Fox or something. Guess I shouldn't have made that assumption.
Our Buffett Virgin didn't make out too bad. Got introduced to the Shotski & an Ice Luge & was a bit fragile for a bit there but we pulled her through by the time Buffett hit the stage! She's probably hooked.
Was a bittersweet show for her & myself as well. I had lost my wife a year & a half ago & while she wasn't quite onboard with JB she was into CCR (Fogerty) big time. I knew this was a show she would have been at & enjoyed greatly. And my friend (the Buffett Virgin) lost her husband pretty much a year ago exactly & they too were big CCR fans so the tunes brought back some haunting memories for the both of us for sure.
PetalMel DID make it down albeit about 6ish. Good group in our lot it seemed. Younger ones & older ones (my age) alike. No a**holes at all! We were all swaping supplies that we either ran out of or forgot.
Was pleased to see James Taylor hit the stage for Mexico (and prove me right on my prediction)

but something didn't seem right with his presence on stage. Tempo seemed slower than normal for Buffett to me. Not sure if JT wasn't on the same page with the CRB or what. JT seemed to be fiddling with his guitar a bit when Jimmy was working the vocals so don't know if he wasn't getting the sound he wanted or not. Maybe the big stadium had an effect? Wasn't quite the highlight I was hoping for.
All & all just hoping like hell this show can get moved back to DTE (Pine Knob), although with him potentially cutting back shows not really confident.

Had a great time.
Tiki Bar went up AOK
We brought the surfboard and put it on wheels and rolled around some lots to great cheers.
The phans in the lots around us were absolutely great.
I thought the concert was a great time too.
The video backdrops were a wow factor for me.
No too bad getting out of the lots either.
All in all, a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon and evening.

Dr. C - James Taylor was VERY off. Seems like the band did try to adjust. Seems like he also wanted on and off that stage FAST! But good call. And he did mention the J-ho's (my friend, fellow "women 2 blame" coined that).
Got very spoiled by 2nd row center. I've had 2nd row left at Pine Knob before. And 4th center at Pine Knob. Getting great seats does make it harder to move back again, LOL.
I was impressed with how fast Jimmy's bodyguard made it from his step on stage, up over the chest high barricade to break up the fight that was happening. I hope the low numbers this year doesn't keep him from coming back. I know I'm in the minority, but you got to love that the tailgate starts as early as you want in Detroit. If Pine Knob gets him back, they may need to start opening those lots earlier again! I know for our tailgate it takes us about 30min-hour to set up.

Ken... glad to hear you had a good time! I watched the concert online and thought it was a great show.
Take a few days to recover and then start plotting your Alpine strategy!

Not surprised, the one RM did broadcast we all felt the same way. What a treat for y'all.

I was really disappointed RM didn't broadcast Fogerty's set. After seeing him at the Frisco show last month, I was looking forward to hearing him last night. I've seen him 5 or 6 times, he's always been one of my favorite performers going back to the CCR days. Yes, I'm old.

I gotta say for all the griping I do about him moving to Comerica Park we throughly enjoyed it this year. Love that he played Bama Breeze ( he didn't play it last month when we saw him in Cleveland). And after nearly 30 shows that we've seen over the years we finally broke our curse and got to see him play Scarlet Begonia's live. For some reason that song has always eluded us at shows.
We had a great tailgate in the lot at the corner of Woodward and the Fisher.
We're done for the year. Hoping to finally check off Alpine Valley off our bucket list next year.

Gotta agree with your first sentence as well!
You must have missed the '08 show at Pine Knob (AKA DTE). He played Begonia's at that show with arguably the best lineup he's ever put out on stage with Sonny Landreth, Jake Shimabukuro & Fingers Taylor special guesting! I enjoy that song as well!

Unfortunately we were on a Jimmy sabbatical at the time. Had to take a few years off due to growing family, career change and becoming self-employed. Must have been an awesome show!

Oooh I was 2nd row at that show too! Clearly to get Jimmy to play that song, I just need to be 2nd row, LOL.
Just downloaded the show, and going through the photos. Great time once again. Thank you Jimmy
