Billion dollar tours

Post by chippewa »

Touring is a lucrative business for many acts these days. It just happens to be most lucrative for the likes of the ???, ???, ???, ???and ???. Each of those acts have earned more than a billion dollars from touring since 1990.

Can you guess which five acts have grossed more than a billion dollars since 1990 while touring? Jimmy checks in at #20, he's not even halfway to $1,000,000,000. I was surprised at how many acts have played more shows than Jimmy, even the Eagles have played 484 shows in that time.

20. Jimmy Buffett
Gross: $402,756,057
Attendance: 9,746,471
Shows: 539

20,648 seats per show (total of 727 shows)
$1,645,277 gross per show

JIMMY BUFFETT

Jimmy playing mostly amphitheaters certainly drives his average price down, there's a lot of relatively cheap lawn seats. Springsteen is mostly a arena/stadium act, as are most others on the list.
